Hello, I am a 28 year old friendly and experienced dog person, with two furry babies of my own. I have a 3 year old Saluki called Tala and a 10 year old Jack Russell called Gozo. I am reliable and trustworthy, and understand how important this is when it comes to our precious members of the family. As well as life long experience with my own dogs, I have walked dogs for elderly and disabled members of the community. I have volunteered with street dog charities abroad, and have helped out at a small boarding kennels. I am understanding of dogs with specific needs, challenging behaviours and those who can be sensitive or in need of patience. When a family member needed help, I took on and cared for an elderly collie with diabetes. I'm currently in-between graduating as an Anthropology student and starting full-time work in September, so have plenty of time on my hands to hang out with and care for some pooches! I have a soft spot for, and a lot of understanding of sighthounds and collies, although really do love them all! Dog Boarding & Doggy Day Care in my Home It would be a pleasure to look after dogs who get on with other dogs in my own home, they would have to be introduced peacefully to my two, and then I expect that they would absolutely love the company and play times together. I've done this with friend's and work colleague's dogs before with no issues. I could possibly take take 2 dogs from the same family, although I would prefer only 1. My partner Nathan and I have a small house and fenced garden on the outskirts of Exeter, near woodland and a park, away from any roads. I have to be careful with my saluki that she doesn't run away, and so I'd never leave them in the garden unattended. She is naturally quite timid, and keeps herself to herself. Our Jack Russell, is a neutered male, he is a typical terrier and can be loud and boisterous to being with, but loves company and makes friends quickly. He may not get on with un-neutered males, we would need to see how they got on first. Any boarding dog will be treated as a new friend and member of the family, free to go where they liked in our house. They will have their bed in the living room downstairs, and our two sleep upstairs. They will be fed and walked as you wish, and I never leave the dogs for more than 2 hours. I would never leave a guest dog alone with mine, unless I really knew them. Dog Sitting, Visiting in your Home & Walking I have a small caddy van and would be happy to travel up to an hour from Exeter to look after your dog/s. My days and hours are currently very flexible. In this case, my dogs would stay at home with my partner and I would come to you. I would be happy to do this for any kind of and number of dogs, and will follow exactly your wishes and requirements. I understand how vital this is, as would the shoe be on the other foot I would be very cautious to find somebody understanding, reliable, calm and patient for my Saluki Tala. I am fit and active, I love going on long walks and so I'd be happy to care for anybody from a lively young puppy, giant great dane, pampered princess to stiff old man. I'm confident in caring for those who may be antisocial, anxious, aggressive, unwell, elderly, wild, excitable, loving, friendly etc we all have our needs and differences.
