Hi there! I am a veterinary assistant at a veterinary clinic who would like to spend some of my days taking care of other peoples fur babies. I have been pet sitting for friends and neighbors since I was about 14 years old. I love everyone's animals as my own. I am comfortable caring for dogs of every size and age, as well as dogs that may need medications or extra attention. Please let me know if you have any specific questions for me! I would love to provide as much love and attention as possible for your pet during times that you cannot! I do have a dog of my own that is fantastic with others, so if you’re comfortable with it, he loves to come along on adventures and make new friends! I am also fully vaccinated for COVID.

Maggie was a great house sitter and spent lots of time with my dogs. They are high energy and can be A LOT to deal with, but she had no problem. I'll definitely use her services again.
Maggie was a great dog walker - after the first day, my dog was delighted to see her and came home happy and a little tired! Maggie walked in the rain and on hot days. We would definitely want her again if we needed a walker.
You would have to search far and wide for a pet sitter more qualified than Maggie! She has worked with animals professionally for 7+ years, and has been a bonafide animal lover for much longer than that. She has always had a pet of her own around to take care of, but is training to be a veterinary technician so she knows a lot more than the average sitter! I tap into her expertise whenever I have an odd animal situation or question I need answering and she knows exactly what to do. She has the biggest heart towards four legged creatures, and is very responsible. You won't find a better guardian for your pet!

When your pet is in my care, I prefer to know as much as possible to keep us all safe and happy. If they have a tendency to eat things that aren't edible, or run out the front door at any given opportuinity- I definitely need a heads up! I also like to have your regular veterinarians contact information on hand just in case of emergency. I have a lot of experience in animal medical care, but I'm not a doctor, so I may need that info in a serious situation!
A typical day
On a typical day of petsitting, I like to make sure I provide a balance of fun, love and exercise! The time spent doing each depends on the individual of course. In my day job I take care of other people's furry family, and I honestly love doing it in my free time too! If you have a dog that enjoys playing with others- I'm also MORE than happy to bring my very sweet and playful boy to join the festivities.

Availability
I work at an emergency vet in Charlottesville, so I am away for long periods of time when I’m scheduled. I keep my calendar on here as up to date as possible so that I’m not working when I have a petsitting commitment. If you are comfortable with your pets being alone for ~12 hours overnight, you are welcome to ask me about my blocked off days!
