Pet care experience
I've worked at a veterinary clinic for 4 years and volunteered in the cardiology clinic at my University Vet School for 2. My vet clinic provided veterinary care as well as boarding services, particularly for animals with special medical needs, so I am able to take care of any extra needs your pet might have. I'm experienced with dogs who have special behavioral needs, including anxiety. I've owned all sorts of animals over my 22 years, including dogs, horses, rabbits, birds, hamsters - you name it, so I can handle pretty much anything!

Maggie was absolutely AMAZING!!! She cared for our mastiff while we were on vacation and we couldn’t have asked for a better care taker! She went above and beyond - played and even bathed Allie. She stayed for over a week at our house and we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing Maggie was taking care of Allie. Our dog is 140lbs and is picking about who is around her but she absolutely LOVED Maggie! Maggie was very kind and patient with a very welcoming demeanor during the meet and greet with Allie - which made all the difference. She allowed Allie to grow accustomed to her and made us feel comfortable during the meet and greet as well. Maggie is responsible and attentive - sent daily updates and photos. Highly recommend and can’t say enough about how grateful we were to have had Maggie at our home while we were out of town. We will definitely book with her again! Thank you again Maggie - you were wonderful!
Maggie was exceptional. Mature and thoughtful about her care for my elderly dog. Sent photos that reassured me and left my home in great shape for an easy transition back after vacation. Highly recommend!

I adapt well to your pet's lifestyle and can be as active or laid back as they need me to be. I also can help with tidying up and cleaning for longer stays.

I am very flexible and adaptable to any needs your pet may have, all I ask is you let me know beforehand or leave a note for me when I get there! I like to know about feeding schedules and portions, potty schedules (if it isn't the obvious), any special dietary restrictions/allergies, rules of the house, any special medical needs, special behavior needs/warnings, and any big Do's and Don't's you can think of for your pet(s). If you would like to schedule a meeting to go over this instead, we can do that (in person or on the phone).
A typical day
I have worked at a daycare for several years and can manage all kinds of activity levels and needs. I also have all sorts of fun puzzles and games up my sleeve to entertain. If your pet needs a more active day, I can throw a ball for hours, hide some treats around the yard for a little brain activity, or take them for a long hike at Castlewood or out where I board my horses! I take my dog for drives all the time and could take a restless pet for a ride around the block (if you're comfortable, of course). If you have a senior dog or a slower dog, I am also perfectly content to hang out and watch Netflix and snuggle all day. Just let me know your preferences, and I will make it happen!
