Hello dog owners in San Antonio! My name is Magdalena, but everyone calls me Lena. I am 21 years old and from Austria/Europe. My mother tongue is German, but I am fluent in English. I came to America in September 2016 to have a break between high school and college. Here I am living with an American family and take care of their kids from Monday to Friday. Of course I am here legally on a J1 visa! I grew up having dogs. From when I was born till I was 13 years my wonderful German Shepherd Linda was a huge part of our family. After she passed away of her age we got a new grey German Shepherd. Her name is Cara and she is still living with my family in Austria. I cannot wait to see her again and I miss her so much. My American host family doesn't have a dog so I really would love starting to take care of other dogs here in San Antonio. I always needed to walk my dog twice a day for long walks and feed her. Even though Cara now is 8 years old, she still acts like a puppy and loves to play. Keeping her active was always important for me. I really enjoy running with dogs, play catch or just love them. I think it is really important to give dogs many pets and show them you really love them. Because we have 4 seasons in Austria my dogs always lost their fur, so I needed to brush them many many times. German Shepherds are big, strong dogs, but I never had a problem of not being strong enough to hold her when passing other dogs on a walk. I usually get along or connect with every kind of dog really quick. Last summer I spend some time with my host family in Virginia. The neighbors had two amazing dogs I fell in love with in a couple seconds. One of them was a bulldog, the other one a tiny dachshund. Both of them where so different, but both were just so amazing. I also did dog walking for other people in Austria and I would just love to spend time with my favorite animals here in Texas!
