When we go out of town, Magdalen stays with our dog Shadow in our apartment across from Prospect Park. We've had this arrangement with Magdalen for over five years. We have complete trust in Magdalen. My wife used to joke that Shadow likes Magdalen better than Shadow likes us. Shadow is 60 pounds and is a quirky, lovable mutt. He is almost deaf, doesn't have great eyesight, and has arthritis in his legs. So the one steep flight of stairs are always difficult for him to navigate. If he's with some one he doesn't know or like, he balks at the stairs. Or sometimes he'll miss a step or slip on the way down. Magdalen has dealt with this and Shadow's other requirements seamlessly. Shadow ate something in the park, another quirky habit, and was very ill by the time we'd left home for the airport. Magdalen took the initiative to phone our vet and persistently called him back until she got his input. On the vet's advice she took Shadow off kibble, fed him only rice, gradually adding boiled chicken to his meals until he was completely well. She shopped for ingredients and cooked Shadow's meals, monitoring his progress carefully. We were very grateful to her. She kept us informed of Shadow's progress even though we couldn't reply to her messages consistently or find internet connectivity. She also maintains a great rapport with our elderly landlady who lives downstairs! So yes, do hire Magdalen to care for your pets in your home with my family's sincerest recommendations and praise. Shadow loves her company. Actually, we depend on Magdalen- so that we can relax while we're away- because we know Shadow is happy and safe in her care. -- Eric

Dear Rover clients Magdalen has cared for my two dogs- Tootsie, a pug and Annika, a german shepherd many a time when I've had to go out of town. I am a dog sitter and dog boarder myself so choosing Magdalen to care for my dogs is a big deal! --for me and my dogs. I knew that Magdalen was the right choice because my girls, Tootsie and Annika, took to Magdalen right away. Dogs like Magdalen. And most important, when I get home from my travels, I know that my girls will be relaxed and content when they come to greet me at the door. She is never messy, in fact she has a tendency to neaten up and water plants, and YES! lavish attention on Tootsie and Annika. She even walked a client's dog for me in my absence. I trust her completely with my beloved girls. Whenever I needed to check in with Magdalen she answered my call or text and sent me great photos of my dogs at their favorite neighborhood hang outs. She has referred me to clients of hers and I have referred her to clients of mine. if you have any special diet or feeding/or care instructions, she will follow your instructions with care. I recommend Magdalen very highly. She always does a good job - she is a wonderful person.
