Hey there everyone! My name is Maeve, I’m originally from Reston, VA and I’m currently a junior at the University of Vermont. I love dogs (and all other animals as well) and although I’m somewhat new to Rover, I’m definitely not new to dog sitting! I’ve always had dogs growing up, and I’ve been helping neighbors and friends with their dog sitting and dog walking needs for close to 10 years now. I am so excited to now be advertising on Rover, as I really want to expand the number of people I can help! I am very energetic, so I love taking dogs on nice long walks and spending lots of time playing. I’m this way, I’m especially helpful for dogs with a lot of energy! I’m happy to spend as much time or energy on a dog as needed, and I’m super flexible with any specific accommodations that a pet or an owner needs. Please don’t hesitate to reach out, I’m always excited to meet new dogs!

Maeve was a fantastic help as a pet sitter for my two one-and-a-half year old 20-25lb basenji dogs. She followed instructions and gave me daily updates. When I returned home, the dogs and house looked like when I left it, or maybe even better than that!
Maeve took care of our dog and cat for a week staying in our house while we were on vacation. When we got back the pets were happy and the house was just like we left it :-). I would not hesitate to leave Maeve with our pets again. Maeve lives on our street and my dog loves her! I highly recommend Maeve to care for your pets.

I like to work around the dog’s normal routine when working in a client’s home. I certainly do not want them to feel uneasy that there is a stranger in their territory, and I’ve found that the best way to do this is to encourage them to follow their regular routine and to build off of that. Learning from the dog’s reactions to me in their home and adjusting my behavior accordingly is my specialty!

Let me know if your dog has any special medical needs, or if there is anything in particular that I can do to make them more comfortable. Also please let me know if there are any behavioral issues with people or other dogs - I’m happy to work with them however is needed, I just like to know ahead of time so I can take the best care of them!
A typical day
I love to take dogs to new places to explore on walks. I mostly I love to discover what games each individual dog loves, whether it’s fetch, playing with a certain toy, or just endlessly running around.
