I have experience with my family's half-beagle half-Sheltie medium size dog, my cousin's purebred beagle, and my best friend's pit/Rhodesian Ridgeback. They all have very different personalities and energy levels but I have been able to take care of all them. Our family dog and my best friend's dog were both adopted as adult dogs from shelters, so I am familiar with that situation. Somehow I have become our family's resident dog-washer but I don't mind the task, and I seem to have the touch for calming our dog down for bath time. Also our family dog is now 13 years old and I've had experience administering medicine for him and providing extra care to him due to his age. I love all kinds of dogs and have a calming presence that they respond to. I have an active lifestyle--I go running and hiking--and would be happy to take your dog on any speed or distance walk.
