Pet care experience
Hi! I’m Madison. I graduated from undergrad in 2020 with a biology degree. I have had over 13 years experience taking care of pets. I had personal experience with my own dog at home, he was a shi-tzu maltese mix and unfortunately he had to be put down due to cancer summer of 2020. I also have professional pet care experience: I used to work at a pet store as a summer job, I’ve had internships at animal clinics and guide dog kennels where I took care of the dogs, fed them, bathed them, walked them, and cleaned the kennels. I’m currently working as a vet’s assistant and am enrolled in vet tech school. I’ve also been dog sitting/dog walking for 5 years and have experience with dogs from a few months old to 15 years old. I have experience with dogs ranging from 10 pounds to 150 pounds. I’ve had a wide range of experience with dog sitting, walking, and drop-in visits. I try my best to make my schedule work for my clients! I love all animals especially dogs and will do everything I can to make sure I can fulfill the duties of a dog walker and sitter!

Everyone knows peoples’ pets are their furry babies. I take that into account when working with someone and their pups. I always respect the clients household if it’s a dog sitting job, and I keep an open line of communication throughout the stay (I know how it can be being on vacation and worrying about your pet, so I make sure you don’t have to stress and keep you updated with everything via text, facetime, phone calls, etc.) Every dog is different and therefore has different needs, I make sure to abide by that specific pups needs whether they be physical or mental health related. I’ve worked with dogs that are fear biters, have separation anxiety, and rescues who take some time to get used to a new person. Whatever your dog needs, I make sure they get it. Dogs are the best and deserve the best, so that’s what I’m here for!

Any special diets, allergies, if they tend to eat things they’re not supposed to, how they are when out for walks, how they are around people. Reactivity. Meds that need to be given. Any quirks about your pet!!
A typical day
It depends on the dog obviously, every dog has a different schedule. I’ve watched dogs that only get let out in the back, dogs that get 2 mile walks twice a day, dogs that get walks plus outside time in the back. It all depends! Whatever your dog needs I will make sure they receive it!

I currently work Mon-Thurs. My schedule is as follows: Mon: 11-7, Tues: 8-5:30, Wed: 8-5:30, Fri: 8-7, Sat: 8-1. If anything is needed during the week I can always come by after I’m done at work.
