Barking Up The Right Tree With Me!
Pet care experience
Hello! Thank you for considering me to care for your beloved pet! Feel free to scroll through my profile and read a little bit about me. Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if you would like to schedule a Meet & Greet with me! Note: - Dog Walk/Dog Drop-In Meet & Greet will be either in your home or a neutral location for both parties. - Day Care/Overnight Boarding Meet & Greet will be in my home. My address and other instructions will be given approx. one day before the Meet & Greet. - Please be advised that I am currently booking out Overnight Boarding and Day Care about one month in advance. Don’t let that keep you from reaching out though! I will do my best to accommodate your schedule and booking request 🙂 Background: Growing up my love of animals started at a very young age. From the time I can remember we always had dogs, cats, a goat, guinea pigs, ponies, horses, hamsters, and many other furry family members. The neighbor to our right also had a donkey and several cows that I spent too much time with every day! Before heading away to college, our last beloved family dog passed away - a 14 year old Chinese Shar Pei. This left us with two cats who are now 20 and 11 years old; both of which I found outside as stay kittens, begged to bring home, and helped raise since they were just shy of one year old. They now reside nearby with my mother! Once I went off to college I think I experienced my own version of "Empty Nest Syndrome" since it was the first time pretty much ever that I had not had animals living with me or in my care. That did not last long - at all. I came across an organization on my campus that would allow me to full-time foster, socialize, and train dogs from eight weeks old until around two years old (give or take some time and fosters who needed a different setting to succeed). I immediately fell in love and started my Service Dog in Training (SDiT) fostering journey while attending engineering school. After four years of school, graduation, and eight foster puppies later, I found myself in an apartment again in a new city - with no animals. That is when I decided to adopt my 25 pound poodle-mix, Luna! Between her, growing up with animals, and my volunteer SDiT journey, I have spent countless hours in dog handling and behavior classes as well as I have a solid understanding of caring for any size dog, cat, or house pet! Animal Care Knowledge: - 6 Years as a SDiT Volunteer Trainer - Consisted of monthly in-person classes addressing behavior and how to teach new commands - Had a live-in foster puppy (sometimes two) usually starting at eight weeks old until around two years of age. This consisted of training and socialization as well as taking the dog everywhere I went the majority of the time. - Keeps up to date with relevant dog knowledge pertaining to training methods, body language, behavior, and overall health and wellness. - Have taken multiple hours to learn how to properly fit and use different equipment that your dog may utilize such as e-collars, herm springer prong collars, martingale collars, long lines, harnesses such as an easy-walk or head collar (Gentle Leader, for example). - Have administered multiple medications using different methods as needed for individual pets
Reviews
Our puppy had a great time staying with Madison!! Nothing but nice things to say! Very caring and accommodating!
Madison did a fantastic job! Bucky seemed so happy and she gave us daily updates so we wouldn't worry about how he was doing... including some great pics! Thanks again Madison!
Our dog Kasha spent 3 days with Madison and Grant. During her stay we received communication and pictures that made us comfortable that she was in good hands. We’re so happy we found Madison and hope to leave Kasha again. We had a vacation but she had a playcation!
My pup had a blast and came home worn out! Perfect!

Other Information as of June 20, 2022: - For your pets safety, I do request that all Overnight Dog Boarding guests come with a kennel and be kennel trained to some degree. In new environments dogs can become anxious and may need a safe space to decompress or they may become curious and want to test their limits and boundaries when unsupervised. If you feel that there are special circumstances regarding your pet please feel free to reach out and we can discuss your specific situation further! - If coming to my home (Day Care or Boarding), please bring a copy of your pets vaccination records with you during your Meet & Greet. I do require all pets to be UTD on vaccinations as well as on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. This is to ensure the safety of my personal dog as well as all animals that come into my home under my care. Please ensure that your pets veterinary information is up to date on your Rover Profile and any care instructions that I may need to know (Ex. Feeding Schedule & How Much, Behavior Quirks, Typical Exercise Regimen, Play Style, Energy Level, Allergies/Sensitivities, Etc.)

Information Madison L. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know any information about your dogs personality that may be important for me to know -like - Are they reactive? If so, when are they reactive and what protocols are you taking to help with the reactivity if any? Is it only outside/on the leash/in the home? What is their play style? Are they more laid back or are they a high-energy dog?
A typical day
I love to be outside! Hiking on the trails nearby, going to a park, and my favorite activity outside with dogs is swimming or taking them out after it rains! After a nice rain the smells explode outdoors - I really love it when they get to explore and take an un-structured fun walk with me. Other things I am passionate about is puzzles/enrichment. I have a wide array of snuffle mats and puzzles to keep your dogs mind stimulated and each critical thinking skills, which can be really tiring for them - like a walk!

I currently work full-time in NE Ohio five days a week. I am usually in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays. This is subject to change frequently though as I do have a bit of flexibility. When I am in the office my partner, Grant, is almost always working from home (We try to flip-flop days so someone is always at home). Because of this your pet will almost always have someone home during the day with them to monitor and care for their specific needs!
