Quirky Animal Lover!
Pet care experience
Hi there! I’m Madison. I am 31 years old and work for a local non profit. I love animals but sadly my landlord doesn’t allow them- thanks to Rover I still get to hang out with your furry friends! I am a former dog, cat, and ferret owner and have also served as a foster parent to several dogs before finding their forever home. I would love to help out with your busy schedule by taking care of your pets. I grew up with German Shepherds, so I am very comfortable with large breeds but I love the little guys too. I am available to bring your dog on walks, stop by your home to check on other animals, or even do overnight stays. I understand that pets are a member of your family so I am happy to send frequent updates/ pictures for your piece of mind! Just let me know what your communication preferences are. My landlord does not allow pets so I currently take care of them in my clients homes. I treat your pets as if they were my own and want to spoil them with attention since I know they will be missing their owner!
Reviews
Madison was easy to work with. She is very responsive and kept me updated with how things were going with my dog. The house was clean and just the same as when I left. She was even able to accommodate extra coverage when our flight was canceled and couldn't return until the following day. Highly recommend her and would not hesitate to book again!
Madison was great with my large crew. We have two dogs and three cats with a wide array of medications and special diets. We were out of town for a week and came home to a clean house with happy critters. Would happily have her back!
Madison was a great dog sitter and house sitter! She was prompt and personable and sent regular updates. She asked good questions ahead of time so she only had one or two things to ask me during my actual trip. She sent regular photos as well. The most important thing is that my dog felt safe and secure with Madison, which is a big deal, because my pup is a new rescue with a big fear of abandonment.
Madison was an excellent dog/house sitter for us when we took a weekend camping trip! She came by to meet our pup Luna the week before and Luna became friends with her immediately. Madison was intentional with listening to our/Luna's needs and asked great questions (catching me on all the things I forgot!) She was respectful of our space and consistent with the updates she gave us on Luna. Will definitely ask for Madison's help next time we go out of town.

Safety, trust & environment
Some pets have heightened anxiety when their owners are away, so I try sticking to their regular schedule to help with offering them a familiar and consistent routine. For both your pets safety and my own I request information related to their behavior and possible triggers. This helps me avoid these situations or be prepared for them while caring for your dog. (Ex. Dog has a strong prey drive and should be aware of this on walks). I do request that clients let me know where cameras are in their home after a previous occurrence dog sitting where there were hidden cameras found throughout the whole house without me being informed or consenting to being filmed. If this is not discussed with me prior; I have the right to contact Rover and end my stay early. Communication is key to me so as long as you are open and transparent I am an understanding person.
Information Madison H. would like to know about your pet
Temperament, what terminology your dog recognizes (ex. lay vs. down), motivators/ reinforcers (treats, toys, etc), daily routine, meal time information, medical conditions, any other useful information you can think to share!
A typical day
I love bringing dogs on walks and/ or jogs depending on their activity level/ stamina. I also enjoy going to parks and hiking trails but that is dependent upon the dog’s temperament and the owner’s wishes. While dog sitting I do avoid dog parks since there are so many unpredictable factors and your dog may not respond as well to my commands.

Availability
I work full time during the week so I am only available for dog walking or check-ins on weekends unless you’re in the Ballard/ Fremont area. For pet sitting in your home I am available through the week since I primarily work from home. I occasionally have to go to a few job sites throughout the week but typically am not gone longer than 4 hours. If bookings are made with enough time in advanced I can typically adjust my work schedule to meet the needs of your pets.
