Pet care experience
Outside of dog sitting, I am a full-time student at Whatcom Community College working toward a career in physical therapy. Although I am a busy, committed college student, I manage my time extremely well and have become a very good communicator. Dog sitting is a way for me to stay connected with my love for animals as well as spend my time efficiently. I have mainly had experience with small and medium sized dogs, but have recently become more involved with caring for large breed dogs. I regularly walk a Pitbull and Dachshund mix on the trails in Bellingham. I am currently being trained at the Skagit Humane Society to care for the dogs that are waiting adoption. I regularly take my friends dogs out for long hikes and sometimes just trips to the lake for some extra exercise time to burn off all their energy! I am very experienced with high-energy dogs and would love the opportunity to spend more time with them.

Madeline is a great pet sitter and goes way beyond what is expected! She has taken care of our dachshund many times over the past few years. I never have to about my fur baby when I can't be home. She is always on time and takes our Dwight out for walks and adventures. She adheres to his schedule and makes sure that he is very happy. Dwight doesn't even mind that we are gone!
For as long as I have known Maddie, she has loved dogs and dogs have loved her. Having a dog of her own, as well as a neighbor dog that comes to see her all the time, Maddie knows how to care for dogs and ensure they are loved.

I would like to know what the routine of your dog is, what/how often they eat, and what is generally expected from me as a dog sitter. I believe that sticking to a routine that is similar to their normal routine is important for a dog, especially when they are being introduced to a stranger. I prefer medium sized dogs. I love Pitbulls, German Shepherds, and Rottweilers but will work with any dog that is trained to walk on a leash! I will dog sit smaller dogs as well, especially if they love to cuddle!
A typical day
One of my favorite walks in Bellingham is the trail from downtown to Fairhaven. I have recently started hiking in the area and would love to have your dog as my hiking buddy! I also love to play fetch with dogs at the end of the day to let them get some exercise.
