I've provided a couple of good reviews for Madeline but I feel like I need to take those back. I was home sick with an awful case of strep throat for the past week and Madeline walked my dog twice. She didn't know I was home because I was in bed resting (and didn't want to spread anything). On the first visit, she started the card two minutes before entering my home, came inside, sounded annoyed with my dog and went to the bathroom for a full five minutes, scolded my dog for not wanting to put his suit on (he's high energy and always fights it, but you should not scold him?) and then brought him back ten minutes early and waited 8 minutes to close the card after leaving. So basically my dog was walked for 40 or so minutes and I paid for 60. The second time, she also started the card before even entering my home, brought my dog out and then back ten minutes early, and waited 8 minutes to close the card. I contacted Rover support about this because I was concerned I was paying for 30 extra minutes...They told me to reach out to her directly. When I asked her why (and asked her if maybe she is rushed, does she prefer 30 min instead...so I tried to be reasonable even though she's clearly taking advantage of the fact that she thought I wouldn't catch her mistreating my dog and opening the card early and closing it super late) her response was that she "needs ten minutes to put on the dog's suit and get a poop bag" which is NOT reasonable. I explained what I witnessed and she said she "didn't realize that was happening". Also not reasonable. I assured her that I still wanted her services but I wanted to find a middle ground, thinking hey, we all make mistakes. She did a great job with him all last year. Would 30 min work better if she's in a rush? Etc etc. Today I get a message saying that "due to a personal reasons" she won't be able to provide her services anymore and cancelled all future stays, saying take care. I then had to ask her for my house keys back. I do not recommend Madeline. I saw in the summer of 2022 that she can do a good job (which is why I originally posted good reviews) but something must have happened where she just got comfortable taking advantage of a situation when she thinks people aren't home to see it. I get having a bad day but at least admit when you're in the wrong. And when someone gives you another chance, don't cancel and leave them stranded without a dog sitter because you can't handle feedback. You scolded my dog and cut his walk short and somehow you're upset with me? Seems unfair. So many other good sitters on this app it looks like, so try anyone else before Madeline.

Madeline is super reliable, caring, and trustworthy! My family booked her many times for drop-in visits for our special needs dog and two kittens. The whole gang loved her and she always sent amazing updates each visit. Can’t recommend her more!!!
