Hi there! I'm Maddie and I'm currently living in the LIC area. Here's a bit about me: - I have experience owning and training both dogs and cats. I grew up with large lab mixes and have looked after small pooches, so I can handle myself around dogs of all sizes. I currently own a cat (named Corgi because my lease wouldn't allow the real deal), so I am fully experienced in feeding, cleaning up after, and playing with them as well. I raised her from kittenhood, so that level of energy is no problem for me! - Growing up around large dogs also means I know the proper protocol for walking them and controlling them around people. I'm fully aware that not everyone wants to be approached by a large dog, even if they are half golden retriever and half yellow lab! If I'm walking him/her, I would prefer to know how trained they are (sit, stay, heel, etc.) and if they are friendly around other dogs before we start. There are great parks and dog-friendly areas for walking in LIC, and it'd be great if I could take your furry friend there! My only warning is that I'm no olympian when it comes to strength, so it might be an issue if your dog likes to pull on walks. - And, of course, I've always loved animals. Fun fact about me - there's a dog training video somewhere in the world where 7 year old me and my siblings are begging my parents for a dog (and it worked!). Another one? I liked my first elementary school crush mainly because his mom owned 5 golden retrievers (from a young age, I knew what I wanted). It's just always been my thing. The dream is to one day have the time and land needed to rescue animals full time!
