We requested housesitting with my dog and cat while on vacation. I expected Maddie to spend the night and take care of the dog and cat. I left printed instructions and spoke with her beforehand in case she was going to be gone longer than 6 hours. I had 4 people listed that could come let my dog have a bathroom break. Day 1 they were left alone for 10 hours. Day 2 she didn’t spend the night. Day 4 they were alone for 7.5 hours with a 10 min break and she didn’t spend the night. Day 5 she left at 12:30 am and didn’t come back until 4:15 pm the next day (16 hours alone with no bathroom break). She left the cat outside at 5:45pm (which is ok if you return later) and didn’t return until the next day at 1:00 pm. So he was outside for 18 hours and the dog was alone inside the house for 18 hours. Day 6 they were alone for 8 hours. Day 7 she didn’t spend the night. Day 8 they were aline for 9 hours. I am absolutely heartbroken that my babies had to spend so much time alone and didn’t even get so much as a bathroom break. This was cruel and inhumane. I think when she was home with them that she was good to them. But I would not recommend for housesitting. I wish I had security cameras that I could have accessed during the trip or I could have prevented this from being so bad.
