Dogs are the new kids

Pet care experience

I've grown up my whole life (I'm 29) with dogs - always two to entertain each other. My family has had bulldogs, french mastiffs, and now a french bulldog. We've had puppies and elderly rescues alike. I'm experienced in training, walking, caring for (cleaning up after!) dogs from puppy age to old age. I love dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes. In march, I rescued a Pitbull/lab mix from PAWS named Nile. He's an absolute sweetheart - now almost 7 years old. He loves making friends and is happy to have anyone join him in his home if you are comfortable with it. I'm also happy to arrange meet and greets as requested. :) let me know if you'd like a sitter and looking forward to meeting your pup!

Maddie and Jarrad took such amazing care of Maisie. They were caring and thoughtful, sent many updates, and generally treated her like their own. (Their own dog, Nile, is an absolute sweetheart, too.) I would book them again to watch Maisie without hesitation.

Maddie was very easy to communicate with and Bodhi had a great time with Jarrad and Nile! I really appreciated the good care he received and I know he had tons of fun. We will definitely use them again. Thanks!

Maddie was absolutely amazing! This was my first time using Rover. She was quick to respond to a booking request & she made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog for a few days. Communication was great and she sent me daily photos which I appreciated very much. I will definitely be using her again when I need to travel!

Maddie is the best dog mom I've ever met! She's so knowledgeable, friendly and honestly I've never met anyone who loves pets more than Maddie. You can definitely trust her to give your pet the most love and attention!

We both adore dogs and spoil our own rescue, Nile, rotten. We've been fostering shelter dogs through One Tail at a Time for the last year or so, but I'm looking to earn a little side $ as a recent grad, so I'm switching to caretaking (from fostering) for a while. Any dog we care for will be allowed anywhere in our apartment, on any furniture, and treated with unlimited love, scratchies, snuggles, playtime, and whatever else they enjoy most. I love taking pictures of the dogs I care for, so if that's your thing, expect plenty to come your way! :)

Information Maddie B. would like to know about your pet

If they are leash reactive, dog reactive, protective of resources (food, toys), have any specific triggers, current medical conditions, and any history of aggression or attacks. None of these things would rule out a boarding stay for me, but for their safety and our own dog's safety, it's important to know in advance so we can take the appropriate precautions.

A typical day

Tug of war, quick potties in the front or back yard - both fenced, walks around the block, and trips to the nearby park that is fenced so they can run off leash a bit (and we only go when it's completely empty, both of humans and pets). I also love couch and bed snuggles, if your dog enjoys those as well!

I'm a recent graduate from Northwestern University Graduate School, soon to be full-time Genetic Counselor at Northshore in Evanston. My live-in boyfriend is a video editor and works from home. We already walk and let out (in our fenced yards) our dog at least 4 times a day, so it's no problem at all to add another one into the mix. We are also currently fostering a sweet little chihuahua named Goldfish. :)
