Hello, 👋 my name is Mackenzie! I am a former teacher, and am now a virtual assistant. I currently live in Grand Rapids, MI, on a no outlet street off of Fulton. I work from home so I am very flexible. If your dog has separation anxiety or a fear of being alone I am a great fit as I will not leave my home. Your animal(s) will look forward to walks, LOTS of cuddles, and play time. I have three years of experience working at doggy daycares, leading a pack of dogs. Likewise, I am trained in canine behavior and health. I have a nack for leading and showing assertiveness, while remaining calm. Your dog(s) MUST be comfortable with small dogs. My routine: I typically wake up around 8 am and take my dog for a walk 30 minutes after waking. Then we do feeding routines. Bentley does sleep most of the day due to his age. But if your dog is more active I love to be outdoors throwing the ball or playing a game. At the end of the day he gets another walk around 6. And then we feed dinner. This is just my routine, it can be 100% adjusted.

Once McKenzie started watching our two dogs a couple years ago, we started planning every trip around her schedule. She’s incredible in every way, loves our dogs like her own, and takes excellent care of our home when we’re away! On our most recent trip, McKenzie knew just how to care for our pup who became sick, communicated often about her progress, nursed her back to health, and cleaned up the pup’s messes like they never happened. If you’re lucky enough to get McKenzie as your dogsitter, I promise you’ll never want anyone else!
You can’t do better than having Mackenzie watch your pups! Mackenzie house-sits and watches our two coonhounds every month or so when we travel, and it’s so easy to get away knowing that they’re in the most capable hands. She makes our life so much easier!
Mackenzie was AMAZING!!! I came home to a happy dog & my house was as clean as it was when I left. Mackenzie was GREAT with communication & sent plenty of pictures / updates during our 8 day vacation! Highly Recommended & will DEFINITELY book with her again! I couldn't have asked for a better sitter!!!
You can’t get a better dog-sitter than Mackenzie! She goes above and beyond at every turn and loves my pups as much as I do! We’ve booked her countless times now and we plan trips around her availability - she’s the best!

I am very aware of my surroundings and dogs body language. This allows me to keep them safe under my care. Dashing out the door is one of the most common issues, I am very aware of this and ALWAYS make sure your dog will not escape. Likewise, I am trained to prevent dog scuffles, if the event were to ever arrive.

A typical day
My dog gets at minimal two walks a day, typically 15 minutes or longer, so if you dog stays with me they will also receive this benefit! Likewise, I play with the dogs I am watching in the morning and at night to wear them out. Sometimes, if allowed, I will use mental stimulation with tricks or food puzzles.

I am able to be home 24/7 with your pets if needed. I work from home about 20-25 hours a week. This means I can be with your pet all or most of the day!
