I've lived with cats and dogs my entire life, and have been trusted to take care of friend's and neighbor's furry friends. They have relied on me to get their pet's energy out, scoop litterboxes, keep their pet's fed, and administer healthcare and medication to both dogs and cats. Most notably I have been in charge of expressing a senior great dane's bladder and his general senior care, as well as administer oral medication to a cat after surgery when caring for them. I've also worked at both dog and cat sanctuaries taking care of multiple pets at once with a variety of ages.
