Pet care experience
Hello, I graduated from UF (go gators!) and am currently a grad student. I was a veterinary technician for about 2 years and worked at UF vet hospital for another year. Currently, I have had Rowdy for 5 years now. He’s an adorable 7 year old, blind greyhound and a huge couch potato. We love going on long walks and exploring new areas. He is blind due to progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) but that does not stop his excitement for sniffing all the new smells, and meeting new furry friends. He is a certified therapy dog who gets along well with elderly, children, and many doggos. I hope you consider me to care for your loved one!

I met Mackenzie as a graduate student at the dolphin science lab for which I am currently serving as an intern. In the six months I have known her, she has become my closest friend in Savannah. One thing about her I discovered very early on and has remained one of the most important things in her life, is her dog Rowdy. Mackenzie adopted Rowdy after volunteering to take care of him while she worked at a veterinarian office. She quickly fell in love and ended up adopting him. She has now had Rowdy for three years, over which time the retired racing greyhound has gone completely blind. I have never seen someone at the age of 23 be such a responsible dog owner. Every chance she gets to bring him with her, whether it’s to the rock climbing wall, the park, or a dog-friendly cafe, she makes the extra effort to make Rowdy’s life the best it can be. Mackenzie would be the first person I would call to care for my pets!
