Pet care experience
I have had dogs my entire life! My first pet was a Yorkie. I also had a lab and a boxer mix growing up. I now have an Australian Heeler of my own. I have experience with all ages of dog, from 8-week-old puppy to 16 year old senior! I know how to properly administer various medications. I also have extensive experience with cats and have two of my own.

Mackenzie is one of the most responsible pet owners I have ever met! She would do anything for her own animals and others. She always puts safety first and is very timely! I would trust her again and again to watch my dog!
Mackenzie has an incredible love for pets. She had quite a variety of pets growing up and into adulthood including four dogs, two cats, birds, fish, two guinea pigs and a hedgehog. She always researched the best diet and care along with tips for each animal. She loves to get outside for walks and playtime with the dogs or cuddle up with the cats. Any animal would be in the best care possible staying with Mackenzie.

I live in a two bedroom apartment with plenty of green space and an on-site dog park. I also live within a 10 minute drive of multiple dog parks and dog friendly walking trails that I frequent with my own little guy. All pets in my home are comfortable with other animals and are not aggressive in any way.

I like to know their temperament, feelings towards other dogs, and petting preferences. Do they like to be cuddled and carried, or prefer their own space? Can they handle long walks (30+ minutes) or do they prefer short potty breaks outside? I would also like to know if they have any issues with food aggression or territory.
A typical day
I love going on walks at the Arboretum, Jacobson Park, Wellington Park, and other places around Lexington. I’m always up for a fun game of fetcher tug of war. I am also down to just cuddle on the couch! I like to go on runs as well, if your dog is up for it!
