Pet care experience
I've owned my own Pyrenees and cared for him and a Labrador across some amazing adventures. I also helped raise another Chocolate Lab from when he came to us at 12 weeks. What a chocolate chunky thunder monkey land shark! While I have no special skills per se, I realize each dog is different and will do my best to adapt to their wants and needs, in order to provide a positive experience for both companion and owner. Both Apollo and Perry passed away Spring of 2021 from cancer, within a few months of each other. I miss them like I would miss my right hand. My current situation will not allow for me to have a lifelong companion. However, I still have so much love to give to man's best friends, including kitties. There is always room for the love they give in return. Our familiars give us a gift of unconditional grace and love. I enjoy showing them the same.
Reviews
Machele is the best!
Machele is amazing! She does a wonderful job with our two huskies. I have the upmost faith in Machele. Highly recommend :)
Machele was great and took wonderful care of our two boys! She was knowledgeable and cognizant of their needs and communicated often with us while we were away, including sending photos. We couldn’t be happier with the level of care she provided!
Machele was a pleasure to have watch our furry babies. We have two cats and two dogs and she cared for each of them wonderfully. We received regular updates with pictures. She was one of the few sitters we’ve had where we weren’t anxious while we were away. Will definitely be using her for future sittings!

I am currently not offering pet sitting in my home, but do offer house sitting services. I will care for your pet the way you instruct me to. This means if they need crated, or left in a specific location in your home, you can expect me to follow those instructions. I also believe in treating critters and domiciles by the campsite rule. "Leave it better than you found it." I have the need on occasion to run errands at my home, which is pet free. However if this comes up, I would expect to discuss and obtain your consent beforehand.
Information Machele M. would like to know about your pet
Let me know of all your furry friends special and specific needs. I do require ** AT LEAST** one meet and greet with you and your pet so that I can make sure that I am able to meet your expectations, and their needs. I may ask for more, so that your critters and I can be comfortable with each other, and I can do my best to ensure a smooth visit. If you have a "reactive"or "resource guarding" dog, please feel free to reach out to me. I want your critters to be happy in my care. I give good belly rubs and I often smell like pizza. I will talk to them in a soft voice, (I do not like to yell unless an emergency) and give them lots of praise and appreciation. I know that especially during the pandemic, a lot of dogs were adopted, and may have backgrounds of trauma. I am the kind of person who wants to win them over with positive experiences and establishing trust.
A typical day
Tell me what your critters like to do, so I can expand on it! Walks, play, and treats all help me get to know your pet better. I work with a lot of dogs that have some sort of reactivity, so it really depends on what your paticular critter is comfortable with. My General Rule is to not take pups to dog parks, let them off leash, or allow them to interact with other unknown dogs. Keeping them safe is my ultimate goal. However, if this is something we negotiate, I am willing. Every critter is different. My goal is to meet their needs, and make me their favorite Auntie, while you are away.

Availability
I work outside the home on Tuesday- Friday, 7 am to 3pm. I need your critters to be okay for this time frame plus travel to and from your residence from my place of employment. I am occasionally available during the day or early evening for drop ins, and usually on weekends as a last minute for existing clients only. Discussing your wants and needs, and how I can meet your expectations, is important to me. I work 8 hours per day, and so if your pets cannot be left alone for that amount of time, plus my travel, we will not be a good fit, unless you have someone who can drop in on them. Should your pets require more, I would need to enact a constant care rate, which is not shown on Rover at this time, and needs to be arranged in advance. While house sitting, I prefer not to do appointments with other animals, so that I'm able to focus on the needs of your furry friends. However there may be a moment of overlap. If this is this is the case, I will communicate beforehand so that I am able to set reasonable expectations for you and your family. If you are looking for a routine person for walks, I am probably not the best fit. However, I am available for drop ins and walks for existing clients.
