New Grad + Experienced Dog Sitter

Pet care experience

UPDATE: We took a bit of a hiatus when I was pregnant and then had a baby, but are back and ready to have pup sleepovers again! Our golden-retriever-looking golden doodle is now about two and a half years old and we have a five and a half month old human baby now, too! Since we took a break from dog sitting, we also moved into a bigger space in the same town. We have a fenced in back yard and plenty of room inside for everyone to be comfortable :) Please know that your fur baby will be safe as ever with us while you’re away and spoiled so much that they’ll forget you’ve had to step away. We pride ourselves in loving on them as much as you would so that they’re as comfortable as possible. We have a guest room downstairs that we’re able to use if a pup needs more of a dedicated space (if they like to have time to unwind alone away from us or our dog, etc) If you have any special requests, please let me know! Also keep in mind that we have a baby, so if your dog isn’t fond of them or wouldn’t do well around one, it may not be the best fit ;) Hope to meet you soon! Hi! My name is Alyssa. I graduated this past May with my bachelors degree from a university in Illinois and my husband graduated the May before I did from the same school. He and I were college sweethearts (we met on a mission trip to Africa while on the same team) and recently got married and settled down in Grand Haven where he has an engineering job. We have a five month old golden doodle pup named Charlie that we ADORE. The three of us live in a roomy condo overlooking a pond with plenty of grassy space that Charlie loves to run around in. Right now, my husband is the only one working in our household. We moved here once married because he accepted a job here, so now that we are here, I am job hunting! While I am jobless, I will be home all day, every day doing freelance work and being a stay at home puppy mom! Once I get a job, my available hours for dog-sitting will most likely change. I have several years of experience dog-sitting and dog-walking as this was something that I did throughout high school and college for various families and friends. I love dogs and enjoy spending time with them. We have MANY toys and things here for our dog and your dog to do - the last thing they will be is bored! While you are away and not able to spoil your pup, let us spoil he or she for you! We would love to have your pup as a guest in our home. If you have any questions about us, our dog, our home, or our services, please feel free to ask!

I am beyond pleased with Lyssa and her husband! They were very easy to work with and they worked with our crazy wedding schedule! I got an updated photo and they were quick to reply! My pup came home tuckered out from her stay so I know she was well taken care of/played with. I would definitely recommend this couple to watch you fur baby! THANK you!

My Peanut was very happy staying with Lyssa! Lyssa was great at responding to my messages, and we had a chance to meet her before our drop-off date, which made me feel very at ease. She was kind enough to help my Peanut through some stress when a storm rolled through one night, and Peanut got along well with her dog Charlie. I will call her again in the future. :)

Information Lyssa G. would like to know about your pet

My husband and I do not have any breed preferences. We would love to learn about your pup and see a picture before sitting him or her so that we can accommodate him or her as well as possible!

A typical day

While of course it is up to the pup's parents as to what activities he or she can take part in, we enjoy going to the dog beach at Kirk Park in West Olive, going on walks in downtown GH, playing out by the pond by our condo, going on walks, etc. We don't like being away from Charlie for very long, so we often take him with us when we go places. He is a very well socialized pup! At home, Charlie has a ball pit inside and plenty of toys that he would love to share. He also has a small pool outside filled with a few inches of water that pups are able to cool off in after a walk or play in if they get bored with the toys inside. If there are certain activities that your pup enjoys whether it be around town or at home, we would love to accommodate that!
