Friend to Animals
Pet care experience
I have enjoyed animals all my life and have had some sort of pet or animal friend as far back as I can remember. I’ve cared for cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, turtles, frogs, and anything else I’ve been fortunate to encounter on the animal spectrum. I currently enjoy the company of two Golden Retrievers, a rabbit, two hamsters, and fish. I’m a stay at home mom that enjoys life in general and believe animals add so much happiness to our lives. They certainly are much loved members of many families and I understand the stress of not being there for them when you are away or unable to tend their needs. I give every living creature my love and respect. I see our pets as such great additions to our lives. I’m a caring, nurturing person, who will definitely give the time, attention, and compassion to all the pets I service. I definitely believe in earning the trust of animals and approach them with much care and kindness. I would love to be another face your pet is excited to see, but also can feel well cared for and at ease while their “parent”/ “family” are away. I look forward to being a forever friend to your pet.

I am very conscious of pet owners and the expectations they have for pet care. Communication is very important. I make sure that instructions for care are laid out and clear. I also am reachable for updates on any care needed. I expect that I do my best to put the pet and pet owner at ease and make sure all needs are met. I will never leave a home without a pet/pets feeling safe, secure, well loved, and all expectations met. The pet is my first priority while I am providing any services.

It’s important to know the dog’s temperament. I would want to know if there are any fears or triggers that affect the pet. I would want to be aware of any boundaries or safety measures about a pet so they don’t get themselves in a bad situation. I would want to be aware of what motivates the pets. Do they prefer certain rewards or accolades that encourage positive behavior? I’d also want to know any history that might cause me to adjust my approach or interaction with the pet. Also, if taking a pet outside, I’d want to be aware of anything that might frighten, trigger, or cause an adverse behavior that I’d want to stay clear of.
A typical day
I live next to the Broomfield Commons, which is a wonderful place to walk dogs. I love to spend time with pets giving them a good scratch behind the ears or belly rub. I can just sit quietly with a pet to give comfort and attention. Games of fetch, tug of war, or chase is always a possibility. Reading your pets likes and personality is very important.

I would love to be a friend to your pets while you are away or not able to be with them. I am a stay at home mom with a very flexible schedule. I’m available every day of the week. I am also able to be available on short notice, if needed. I just started on this new venture, here on Rover.com.
