A Peaceful, Playful, Place for Dogs

Pet care experience

I work from home and can easily care for your dog as if it were my own. I give them lots of attention, playtime, walks, etc. and generally treat them like the special companions they are. I love to "talk dog". No behavior or detail is too small to chat with you about. The more I know, the better I can care for your dog. I also know what it's like to try to find a good place to leave your dog--especially on short notice--that is not a doggie hotel. I am conveniently located off Woodside Road (84) in Redwood City half way between 280 and 101. It's a peaceful, residential neighborhood and I have a good size yard both front and back. The entire property is fenced. About this sitter: I am a work at home person so, having dogs around lends itself well to my situation. Until recently, I have never been without a canine companion in my life. I'm not quite ready to have a new buddy but, I'm getting there. I took the long way home so to speak. After being gone for 40 years, I returned to my childhood home. That in and of itself is amazing to me but, I'm back now and enjoying every minute of it. I know all my neighbors and have found a real sense of community here. This area has so much to offer. I had forgotten how great it is. Lucky dogs! Why I love dog sitting It all started many years ago with a black poodle named "Hippie". I know, I know. We tried other names but nothing stuck except. . . Hippie. Despite the name he was a very smart dog who could jump hip high. Then there was Yogi, Cass, Daisy, Fluffy, etc. I raised a couple of them from puppies and trained (or rather re-trained) my adult rescue dogs. Meet my pets I have no other pets at this time. About my yard My entire property is fenced. The front has a big, bouncy lawn (especially if your dog is little they tend to hop through it) and the back yard is just land with a couple of fruit trees and a dog run. My experience administering medication At one time or another I have administered pills for all my dogs.

Lynn is Athertons Best kept secret. She is so warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. I was in a bind to find a sitter for my fur baby and Lynn was so responsive. She truly cares about animals and wants to provide a caring home. I can’t say enough about how fantastic of an experience it was!!

Lynn is a godsend. She is so patient with me and mostly, she is so loving and sweet to Bradley. She understands small dogs and knew how to make Bradley feel comfortable with her, even though his stay with her was short. I am so glad to have found such a fantastic sitter for my precious little baby!

Lynn watched our dog, Maizey, for 6 nights while we were on vacation and was absolutely incredible with her!! We got daily updates and pictures of Maizey's stay and knew that she was in great hands the whole time, getting lots of attention and love. Even better, Lynn did some training with our lovable but sometimes mischievous young dog (she asked permission beforehand and we said absolutely!) and we came home to a better behaved dog who had even learned some new tricks. When I went to pick Maizey up, Lynn provided me with a list of observations and suggestions she had made on Maizey's behavior. It is clear that Lynn has a lot of experience with dogs and really know how to communicate with them. We got so much more than just a dog watcher in booking with Lynn and will absolutely seek her out for our next vacation!

Lynn provided wonderful, attentive care for our senior dog during our recent vacation. She fed her specially made food, administered medication and played/walked with her daily. We highly recommend Lynn!

Information Lynn M. would like to know about your pet

I prefer small breeds but, would be comfortable up to about the size of an Elkhound. I would like to know if they like to go for walks (some dogs don't)? How far can I take them? Are they friendly to kids, other dogs, people? Do they have any handling issues? Are they on meds. or flea treatments? How many treats are they allowed? Can I pet them all day long?

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks This is a quiet, residential neighborhood located next to Atherton. I usually head out that way when I take dogs for a walk. Your dog's sleeping arrangement If your dog has a crate, they can stay in my room. Or, if they have a dog bed, they can stay in the kitchen which is next to my room. We can see what makes them most comfortable. Time I'll spend with your dog I work from home so, your dog would be with me the whole time. If I need to go to the store (which is just around the corner), they would stay in the kitchen/dining room.
