Pet care experience
My name is Lydia, and I’m a graduate from CU Boulder with a bachelor's degree. My fiancé and I just recently moved from Denver, CO to Herndon, VA (his hometown) ! We are both so excited to start a new adventure here and beginning to putting down roots. As we have just moved, I do not have a full time position yet, which means more time I have to spend with your animals :) But, even when I do find work, I am a copywriter therefore my work is flexible and often I work from home. A little about me! I have always had a pet in my house growing up, so I was taught from a very young age the proper way to take care of and love any sort of animal. When I was young my dream job was to be a zoo keeper! I've always known that animals were a huge part of who I was when I was a little girl, and even to now who I have grown up to be. I have been dog sitting for close to ten years now, from before the time I went off to college to now having been out of school for quite a few years. Dog/cat sitting has been nothing but enjoyable, I really do love spending time with your furry friends and giving them all the love and attention they deserve. Your pet will always be in good hands no matter what, I will make sure they are taken care of with lots of love, walks, and cuddles!

Lydia just recently watched my 3 year doodle Bodie and it went great! We set up a meet and greet soon after we spoke and I could tell immediately Bodie and Lydia would get on great. She boarded Bodie for 10 days and always sent pictures and updates. Lydia is very trustworthy and took wonderful care of my Bodie while I was away. I will definitely have her watch him again, and I would definitely recommend her as well :)
Lydia has provided excellent care for my dog Callie on many occasions. She is very loving and is great with communication. Would recommend to anyone looking for a pet sitter!
Lydia was great! She came for a meet and greet before we hired her so we could meet her and she could meet our cat before our trip. She did a great job taking care of Cody and even sent photo updates each day!
Lydia took care of my dog for 8 days while I went backpacking in Montana. Lydia was helpful, responsive, and quick to set up a meet and greet. At the time that my dog stayed with Lydia, she was healing from an infection on her hip and I was able to trust Lydia to make the decision of whether or not to put her in the cone, depending on how much my dog was trying to lick her wound. My dog appeared to quickly adore Lydia and was snuggling up to her in no time. Thanks Lydia for a great dog-sitting experience!

As many rules you feel obligated to share, I will always follow them as well as ask you any questions or concerns I may have myself. Communication is key! I absolutely love to share what your pet and I are up to on a daily basis, so I promise to always send you the cutest pictures of your animals so you know they are safe and loved. In regards to rules, I will always make sure to follow your care instructions for your pets very carefully. These are your family members and I want you to trust they are being well taken care of when they are spending time with me. I will always love your pets like they are my own and am always available to contact as I know a delayed response is the last thing you want when you are away from your loved ones.

If possible, I would like to know if your dog is sociable with other dogs in case I wanted to take them to any dog parks or places where other dogs may be. Also if your dog has any illnesses or any other specific needs such as medications. I am always more than happy to help!
A typical day
A typical day would consist of a nice morning walk, playing at a park and lots of cuddles if your pet is one to snuggle and another long walk to end the day! With Virginia being my new home, I am thrilled to check out the areas, so to have a little friend to come with me on adventures sounds even better! I always want your furry friend to be as happy and comfortable as possible, and I will always work around any needs they may have.

As I have just recently moved to the area I currently do not have a full time job just yet, but even once I do I am fortunate enough to be a copywriter who's schedule is working from home so I of course have all the time in the world to give to your pets! This allows me to give the most love and care for your animals while you are out of town.
