Good at meeting pets, bad at people
Pet care experience
My current living situation prevents me from having a pet of my own, so I'll be living vicariously through yours. Growing up, we had a dog, two cats and some horses in between, so I have a general grasp of keeping quadrupeds safe and happy. For all that this service is sort of "self-designed," I look at it as a job, which means I take the appointments and services requested seriously. I grew up with animals in the home and have been pet-sitting for people in my community since I was 17. I've worked and volunteered in animal shelters, hospitals, and rescues since college and want nothing more than to make sure your little (or not-so-little!) buddy has a good day and maybe an extra treat.
About Lydia T.
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I keep your pets safe by establishing what rules they follow under your direction before any sort of visit, and adhering to those rules throughout the stay. I've never been especially talented at improv - if you say a room or a road is off-limits to explore, your word is law.
Information Lydia T. would like to know about your pet
I'd like to know an animal's general personality, their typical behavior when outside on walks or around other people. Also, it would help if I had an idea of what time they wanted to wake up and eat (and if they have special medications), so I wouldn't offset their routine by too much.
A typical day
We'll walk on the road, as long as there's a sidewalk or a wide shoulder, but if not we can always go exploring in the woods. I'm not averse to romping around outside as long as there's a safe perimeter that keeps everyone penned in. If you leave treats out there's a 100% chance I will spoil your pet (within reason).
Services
Lydia can watch in your home
Availability
I work the overnight, so it's fairly simple for me to stop in first thing in the morning and right around dinnertime as needed if you're away on trips or spending the night out. Lunchtime is a bit trickier, since I do need to sleep at some point...
