I am an enthusiastic dog walker

Pet care experience

About Me: Hi! My name is Lydia. I'm searching for a dog sitter work opportunity in Tucker, Georgia. I'm hoping to do dog walks and pet sit. I go to Ga State and have a very flexible schedule. What I can Provide: I will be able to do dog walks, any dog grooming, letting out dogs to go to the bathroom and play. I can drive myself there to the location. I have lived with dogs for most of my life! I currently have two 1-year-old pups who are 70 pounds each and of lab/beagle mix. So I can handle any big dogs you may have! Also although I have very few experiences with cats, I can provide services such as litter pickup, and grooming. Hope to hear from you: I am available anytime to talk and connect!

We met with Lydia on Saturday prior to our Thursday departure for my niece's wedding. We indicated the house sitting services we needed (from 1/4/24 at 3pm until 1/8/24 noon) both on the Rover website and in person with her. We thought she was very nice and a responsible person plus she had your Star Sitter rating. On Wednesday, one day prior to our flight, we were notified by text that she would not be able to support house sitting during the day on Friday but she had a backup sitter from Rover who would be there for our fur babies. We were hesitant and not happy that a stranger would be entering our home who we had not met. Since both of us felt comfortable with Lydia at the time and we were in no position to find other sitters we agreed. We prepared all of the food for our 3 fur babies and marked the bags. In addition, I left her a detailed letter describing feeding procedures, fenced in backyard procedures and used sticky notes all over the kitchen for her to follow and use any utensils necessary for feeding as well as use of our kitchen for herself. On Thursday, after we arrived in Dallas, I received a phone call from our neighbor that a woman and child were entering our home. He forwarded his Ring video to me. It was not Lydia. We later learned that Lydia was not at our home until later that evening when she was supposed to start at 3pm. The woman was her backup as we later learned. We were specific about the house sitting that they were not to be left alone for more than 1 to 4 hours. I turned on our outdoor Ring cameras from that point forward. The backup sitter stayed for 40 minutes and left. Lydia showed up around 6:45pm. On Friday Lydia left around 7am and the sitter showed up sometime around noon and could not get in because the bottom door lock had been locked at some point. We left the garage door opener, however was never used. The backup sitter showed up two additional times with a man and could not get in. Finally, I received a call around 4pm from the backup sitter and told her to try the backdoor. Our fur babies were alone for 9 hours. I am not sure who lied but we were told the backup sitter had entered our home and they even sent pictures to prove such a claim. My Ring camera videos show otherwise. At this point, we are in a panic as to the care our fur babies were receiving. Lydia arrived at our place after 6pm. Saturday and Sunday were acceptable to us but we were seriously concerned about the lies we were told from the previous 2 days and did not know what was going on in the home. We did not turn on our indoor cameras before leaving and we now wish we did. Monday came and Lydia was out the door around 8am and came back at noon to check on them. When we arrived home Monday afternoon our Dachshund has intestinal issues and is on a specific diet. There was a bag of her food left over in the refrigerator. That did not make us happy. In addition, 2 bags of our Norwich Terrier's food was in the refrigerator and we are not sure what she was fed. It was a nerve-wracking trip from day one and we were concerned every day and did not enjoy ourselves as much as we should have during our visit with my brother's family. I can overlook most things, however lying to me does not work. I'm not blaming Lydia, since the backup sitter could have been telling her something totally different, however I put my faith and trust in Lydia to have responsible people to take care of our fur babies. That did not happen. There is other items of concern, however I believe I have said enough. We will not be using Lydia or Rover again. Thank you.
