Furry friend walks, cuddles & play!

Pet care experience

Hello, my name is Lydia! Growing up, I have always had a dog living in my household. I couldn't imagine life without them! I have a 7 year old Australian Shepherd/Beagle mix pup named Myra. Growing up, I had a Jack Russell Terrier and cared for up to 4 cats that were living at my aunt's house. I recently graduated from college with a degree in animal studies and business administration. In the past four years, I worked at my college on-campus kennel which has broadened my knowledge of the animal world immensely. From cleaning runs to walking dogs, I learned how to care for animals properly. I previously worked at an animal hospital's boarding facility, where I was able to experience many different breeds of dogs and ages! I have worked with big, strong energetic dogs as well as quieter, more reserved dogs including seniors. I am proficient at following proper care protocols and attentive to the small details about your pet. I have developed a bond with all of the animals that I have worked with and hope to continue working with them in the future! Along with my hands- on work experience, I have committed my time to volunteer work as well. This includes volunteering at a local animal shelter with different size pups and breeds, a family zoo and rehabilitation facility with different exotic animals, and even flying abroad to Costa Rica in 2020 to volunteer at a wildlife rescue. This has allowed me to work with animals individually and focus on their certain needs. The exotic animal exposure was essential to gain hands on experience with animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits, goats, pigs, chickens, snakes, frogs, raccoons, etc. Before graduating, I completed an internship at a canine rehabilitation facility where I was able to work with dogs using the underwater treadmill and laser following an injury of some sort! I just recently moved on from Kindness Animal Hospital which provided me experience to work hands-on under four different fabulous veterinarians. It provided me with more skills including working directly with the client and their pet! It has truly taught me to handle each and every pet with the love and care they deserve, as if they were mine! Feel free to message me with any questions/concerns that you may have and I will return your message as soon as possible! **PLEASE NOTE: I do not approve bookings without a prior meet&greet** I look forwarding to meeting you & your pet!

Lydia took care of our three kitties while we went on holiday and did an amazing job. She is very thorough with how each visit went and I would highly recommend her for your pets needs!

Lydia took care of our cat on very short notice when we were out of town unexpectedly. Our cat liked her right away and she is clearly experienced with animals. She's very nice, communicated promptly and sent photos where we could see he was getting increasingly comfortable with her. We really appreciated her willingness to help us when also working full time! Many thanks.

Lydia was fantastic with my pup. I went away for a trip and she was able to stay with him for the week. She sent me lots of cute photos and updates throughout the days. I never felt that my pet was unsafe in her hands. I will be contacting her in the future.

Unfortunately, I do not care for pets in my own home. However, in a client's home; I will treat it like it is my own home! I am very good at communicating- I send pictures and updates of your animal every day (whether you request or not!) and am always available to be reached.

Information Lydia D. would like to know about your pet

I do not have any breed preferences, I love working with all pups! There is a lot of information that should be addressed prior to booking, which is why I request a meet&greet ahead of time to discuss your pet's preferences for a successful booking!

A typical day

I would prefer to know prior to the visit, what your pet likes and dislikes. This will help me know what should or should not be avoided. I will take your pup anywhere they enjoy going to provide happiness while you are away! We can take a walk on the sidewalk near people if your pet enjoys other people or animals. A quieter more reserved place like a hiking trail is also not problem at all. We can do many things such as walk, run, play, and even have some down time! Additionally, I would like to know if your pet has a specific place to sleep or a toy that they seem to enjoy. It would be best to be informed about any food allergies and/or restrictions if applicable. As always, in the case of an emergency I would like your pet's veterinary information.

Pet care fits into my daily routine since I have pets of my own! I have a dog and a rabbit that need care everyday. In addition, I have a cat (although she does not live with me) so I have many responsibilities regarding my pets.
