Pet care experience
Hi!! Let me introduce ourselves my name is Lydia and my partner’s name is Zak. We have just moved house, back to York to be closer to work. I work part-time at a Bakery in South Bank & Zak works at a climbing wall. I only work early hours on the weekends and during the week I spend my time in my pottery studio making products for my independent business, it can get lonely in the studio so having a furry companion for the day helps me get out the house to spend time in nature. Zak and I love the outdoors and usually take the pups on an adventure to the Yorkshire Moors or Dales for a scenic walk From a very young age I have always been surrounded by animals, most importantly dogs! I've always loved dogs, How could you not?! They are the sweetest, most loving animal and best companion. I care for a lot of plants but have an issue of giving them too much love and attention, luckily too much attention does not exist for dogs! As I’ve grown up with dogs, I do very much miss company from pups, therefore being a rover carer is a win/win situation as I get the joy of looking after your dog and you get a reliable, fun & trust worthy companion for your furry friend when you need me. I am happy to look after more than one dog as I grew up with four cheeky dogs and trained all of them from puppies. I am comfortable with small or large dogs and had experience with looking after both. I have looked after many people’s pets in the past and grow a close bond with them, many people like to call me a ‘dog whisper’ haha 😊 . My neighbours’ dog was an ex dog racer. This fearful greyhound was very shy and did not enjoy interacting with new people, however after a few walks and afternoons with myself she opened up and started to become more confident. This gave me a lot of joy and I would not shy away from looking after any dogs even if they might need more attention. Bringing a furry friend to my everyday schedule would benefit myself as much it would for your dog as I do love a good long walk! We now live in a house near Bishy Road, we have a small yard for the pups to do their business outside but there are many parks near by so the pups will still get to enjoy the park and grass. We have an Instagram of all the photos we have taken from our dog visits- if your curious and want to see some cute happy pups.... Pop to our account!- @puppyrecessyork Your furry friends would have a blast here at Windsor and we cannot wait to meet them! Lydia & Zak 🌼
Reviews
Meg has only been with Lydia twice and she loves going. Really happy to arrive this morning and wagging her tail like crazy. Lydia has such a lovely gentle way with her, we have no hesitation in recommending Lydia, can’t think of anything more you’d want for someone to look after your dog.
Lydia was amazing. She looked after Yoshi at short notice and he seemed to have a lovely time. She sent pics of him during his stay. Really reassuring and would 100% recommend.
Lydia is such a gem. Takes care of our pup regularly (at least once a week) and he absolutely loves both her and her partner Zak. He forgets I exist when they’re around, which is exactly what you want from a sitter, isn’t it? Don’t know what we would do without her!
Lydia has certainly earned her fantastic reviews on here. Our lovely cockapoo went for doggy day care today and she kept us updated with lots of photos and videos. He has come back very happy, content and tired out from all the fun he has had. Would recommend Lydia in a heartbeat. Thanks Lydia & Zac xx

I have a lot of experience looking after dogs. I have volunteered at rescue centres in the past and have been trained in high tense situations that may occur whilst caring for any animal. I will always put the dogs well being before my own. Our garden is fenced off and the dogs will always be in our company, we would not leave them on their own.

Information Lydia C. would like to know about your pet
I adore Shetland sheepdogs & Poodles as they are my family pets however I enjoy all breeds and love each one in their own way. Things that I would like to know about your pup: -What are your dog/s abilities (e.g. walking distance) and what kind of things does s/he enjoy doing? - Any health conditions and /or medication requirements? - Special dietary requirements or Allergies? - Fully vaccinated; wormed; flead etc? - Behavioural needs. For example, how does your dog feel / behave around other dogs / pets and people? - Toilet trained? - Any other information (e.g needs; anxieties - triggers/ risks / challenges) that may be important to know? The more things I know the better! Each dog is an independent being! so of course they have different personality’s and likes/dislikes so it’s best to know all these things so I can make his/her stay as comfortable as possible! X
A typical day
There are two big parks in walking distance near by but sometimes for an extra treat I like to take the dogs for a bigger walk to the Yorkshire dales or moors, can’t beat a walk with a great view! On studio days in the pottery shed we would spend the day cosy next to a warm fire whist I pot then we take a break from the studio by taking a walk at the knavesmire. A few times the dogs get very interested in what I am doing and they love to get involved in the clay. In the past for Christmas presents We have made a paw print tree decorations as gifts from the pups to you!.
