Affectionate Pet Sitter and Trainer

Pet care experience

For the love of animals! New Rover clients get $20 off their first booking with Rover/me upon request. Over twenty-five years of animal care experience allows me to provide responsible care for your pets. My ability to connect and love animals is hardwired in my DNA. Personalized care is offered to each fur client. You know best, so please provide detailed instructions on what works for your pet's needs, and I'll do my best to accommodate. Daily text pictures and occasional videos of your pet(s) adventures show you how much fun your pet is having at Camp-Ruff. Daily trail walks and roughhousing are common experiences at Camp. If your fur baby needs a few miles of exercise or wants to sunbathe, our fur camp provides flexibility in care. We have plenty of acres of shaded walking trails adjacent to our home that our guests enjoy. Puppies and dogs with separation anxiety or behavior challenges must bring their crate and pay an additional training fee for the extra time and care they require and deserve. I'm a life coach, teacher, and animal advocate who relocated to care for my aging mother in Winston-Salem. Our flexible schedule allows your pet not to be left for more than 4 hours at a time. Visit our quiet nature wonderland built to explore, Camp-Ruff. I look forward to meeting you and having your fur baby join our family. I appreciate your consideration. Our day begins with a long walk just after sunrise. We feed in the early morning and 5:3--6ish at night. Our pack is let out in the fenced yard multiple times daily to play and soak up the sun and fresh air. We work from home so the pets are supervised in a structured and relaxed environment. We return within 4-5 hours on the occasional outing to let the pups out for a break. We have a fenced yard and separate the dogs several times a day for feeding and rest. We also provide special treats and extrea loving (provide food allergies in your care instructions). For pets, with sensitive tummies, we can provide yogurt, chicken and rice or pumpkin. Tips are appreciated to offset the cost of the food. Vaccination records are required to stay at Camp. Male dogs over 1 1/2 years of age are required to be neutered or pay the puppy fee. No females in heat allowed. Dogs that show poor behavior are separated from the pack and given humane, loving, quiet time either in a crate or in a room, depending on the severity of the behavior issue. If your pet has any challenges at Camp, you are notified and asked to participate in addressing the issue. Dogs that display one or more of eh following behavioral challenges are charged a "training fee" ($16 for one behavior correction and $10 for each additional). Jumping, humping, excessive barking, marking, anxiety, counter-surfing, hyper in the house, splashing water, jumping fences, digging, scratching, or other unwanted behavior. Crate-friendly dogs are welcome, and pets that are well-behaved when left in a room for up to 4-5 hours once daily. We offer a family environment so the pack stays in our home. We treat our guests like extended family; during your pet's stay, We are an active household. I will likely be at work at the computer, writing, cooking, cleaning, watching the occasional movie, gardening or in the thick of a project when not on the trails. We do NOT create train dogs! If your pup sleeps in a crate, it must settle and remain in its crate for a few hours without barking or whining or scratching; otherwise, it becomes too disruptive for our harmonious home and unnecessarily stresses the other dogs. Due to the elements, including rain, mud, smelly soil, hitchhikers, poop, and body oder, light grooming may be needed (tips are welcome and full baths are provided at a nominal fee). If your pup wants to sleep in our house, please ensure they are clean when arriving at Camp-Ruff! Our business Camp-Ruff makes your pup our top priority. We are available by Appointment Only (30-minute blocks of time) from sunrise to noon or between 4-6 most evenings for drop-off and pick-up. We offer 7/8 hours a day for pick-up and drop-offs and spend an additional few hours providing exceptional care to our guests. The pets in our care are supervised 16-20 hours a day, so please consider our time and ask if you need additional assistance. There is only so much we can accommodate in one day. Travel delays happen so we are available the following day if you cannot make it to pick-up before the evening feeding at 6PM. We are fully communicative and report daily on how your pet is doing at Camp. Plus, we have extra insurance if an accident occurs. We offer training and behavior therapy outside of the Rover platform; contact us for a consult today or visit our website Camp-Ruff, for more details. Thank you for learning about us! We offer scheduled 30-minute appointments starting at sunrise to noon or between 4-6 daily. Our guests rise with the sun and eat before 8AM. We are outside (weather permitting) 6 plus hours a day! We go out every 4 hours or more frequent during the day. Dinner is served between 5:30-6:30 and we go out one more time before we retire for the night. We have a fenced-in yard and the space to crate your pet if you desire. Otherwise, our fur guests are immersed in our home environment. Fur guests are separated during feeding or if we leave home for a few hours. We provide an idle time of rest mid-day and extra exercise in the morning to support healthy bones and burn off any anxiety from missing you. We thoroughly communicate their behavior, eating habits, and sleeping patterns while at Camp-Ruff. This is only a good fit if you want to know how your pet is doing.

My dog had the time of his life during his boarding at Lucinda’s. We got pictures every day at multiple times, always very well taken care of. She treats them as her own, and my dog is always happy to go back. She’s my go-to person for boarding or day care!

Information Lucinda S. would like to know about your pet

What are your pet's preferences (wake-up time, feeding instructions, toy preferences, walk schedule, and anything that will help make your pets comfortable while you are away)? Disclose any food allergies! We treat heavily for good behavior. Label and pack any care instructions along with current vaccination records, food, beds, and something that smells like home. At Camp, dogs take each other's toys and beds so please ensure you have everything before you leave. Our Camp is in the thick of nature for multiple hours each day, so flea and tick preventative is a must! Full disclosure regarding aggressive tendencies (not past history of biting permitted), chewing furniture, separation anxiety, digestive sensitivity, and other behavior limitations including but not limited to not coming when called or pulling on the leash requires additional care and an upcharge will be added to the booking. We do NOT accept dogs in heat or aggressive because it disrupts the pack dynamics. We do our best to keep harmony in our pack. If an owner chooses not to have their pet created during their stay with us they do so at their own risk. Your dog or dogs will be confined to a room of our home if we leave our home for an extended time. Rover doesn't cover household damages. If your beloved pet destroys furniture or accessories while at Camp the owner is responsible for the replacement value up to $500 (that's our deductible). Your pet will likely be out of sight for 10/15 minutes for various reasons during their stay (for example; restroom breaks and walking around the house or for drop-off and pick-ups). Rover is responsible for covering other insurance claims per their policies and agreements.

A typical day

We rise with the sun and head to the trails. Our hyper clients run miles daily, while our less active clients spend time sniffing in our fenced backyard or sunbathing. Guest with special needs or behavior changes are cared for at an uncharge (please disclose if your pet requires more supervision or care). Several miles of wooded trails are accessible from my backyard to run or meander through. Sometimes baths are required if a pup gets excessively dirty. Unless requested otherwise, dogs are fed separately after the morning and evening walks. We are outside every four hours or more during daylight time.
