I have been working professionally with animals since I was 19(now 23) and was raised with animals around me all of my life. I started as a kennel technician at Camp Calista/Calista Animal Hospital in Las Cruces, NM and after 6 months of that, transitioned to veterinarian technician. Last year I moved to Arkansas because of a vet tech job offer from Best Friends Animal Hospital here in Fayetteville. General care and attention to animals comes naturally to me and is what I want to spend the rest of my life doing. I have professional experience in all aspects of animal care such as feeding. administering medications, and technical practices/procedures(medical and emergency), as well as genuinely loving animals and being comfortable/confident around them, in spite of stressful conditions. Dogs and cats are what I am most experienced with(all breeds), but feel comfortable working and have taken care of a plethora of animals including small rodents(squirrels, mice, hamsters), livestock(horses/chickens), reptiles(snakes/lizards), and small sea life. Most recently I was a veterinarian technician at Best Friends Animal Hospital, Northwest Arkansas' #1 voted Animal Hospital for almost 10 years straight. Unfortunately I was born with a heart condition that I have to manage and due to Covid-19 have been out of work since March, because if I was exposed to it via work it would be terminal for me. I want more than anything to continue working with animals regardless of Covid-19, and with Rover I hope I find the opportunities to do just that. I am available just about any date, regardless of time and place, and can be ready at a moments notice. Fortunately for me all of my classes are online so I can devote any time I need to towards taking care of your furry family members. I do not provide any of my own home care because I live in an apartment with little access to a fenced in yard or anything like that that an animal should have, but am more than happy to travel/stay wherever I need to, as well as pickup/dropoff animals if they need to go to a park, taken to an appointment, or taken for a walk. Evening, overnight and weekend availability is also not a problem.
