Pet care experience

I have two very friendly female dogs, who loves meeting and playing with other dogs. They both go to daycare at least once a week, so they are use to playing with all kinds of different size dogs with different tolerance levels and they have a great sense to know when to stop and take a breather. We live on 2 acres of land with tons of trails around, so taking walks and playing in the yard is high on the priority list. Before starting school I fostered dogs for a local dog rescue before they found their fur-ever home and I loved the difference I made, and the joy it brought both me, the dogs, and the people who were to adopt their new family member. I know what it is like to have a long day at either school and work and not have the time you want to take out and exercise your dog, or have to go away for a night or weekend to a place where there is simply no options to bring your dog with you. Because I have found myself in all of those situations, I know how important it is to have someone you can trust to come and either take your dog for a nice long walk, or be able to drop them off for a couple of days at a place where you know they will be safe, warm, and loved. Between growing up with dogs, fostering dogs, and raising my own two dogs, I have build a good knowledge base for what it takes to safely care for more than two dogs at a time. I have had to introduce brand new dogs into my home for shorter and longer periods of time, and it has made both me, my dogs, and my cats able to welcome any kind, and any size of dog into our everyday life. I am a part-time student, and work part time as well, so I am never gone for more than 5-6 hours at a time with nice long breaks in between school and work. When I am home, my attention is on my dogs and their needs and we spend hours every day playing around. Both of my dogs are crate trained and are therefor crated when no one is in the house. I live with a housemate who will crate the dogs when he leaves if I leave before him, but when there are other dogs in the house, everybody is crated when I am not home to ensure everybody's safety. A day around here start at 7:00 am with a morning walk in the back yard, then I normally goes to school for a couple of hours, but before I leave everybody gets breakfast in their crates. When I come home, we take a nice walk on a trail or around the neighborhood, go home and play around in the yard before we have some relaxing down time or playtime depending on the mood. The rest of the day is up to the individual dog to decide how they want to spend it. Either getting some cuddles on the couch or play around in the common area. Dinner is again at 7:00 pm and around 10:00 pm we go for our last walk in the back yard before we all go to bed.

Louise is wonderful! She sends videos/pics as updates, her dogs were great with my dog, she keeps me updated about anything that comes up, and is very careful to truly listen to any directions for your dog that you leave her - she even kept the Ziploc bags I packed my dog's meals in so I could re-use them...on my next stay with her! She is very responsive and helpful and you can tell she cares for your pet as much as you do. She also makes sure you dog gets exercise, which is quite nice. I would highly recommend!

Louise is who you want to leave your dog with. Stop worrying about it and just leave your dog with her and enjoy your time off. I will use her again every time I come up to the Ithaca area. I feel like I got incredibly lucky. Please realize that you can leave your dog with her and actually enjoy your time in NY. I was incredibly unorganized in getting my dog to her and she came thru and helped me more than once and i will be forever grateful for it. I am a single mom and I work full time and rarely get to take a break and she helped me cover with my dog care seamlessly and that in itself was amazing and my 2 yr old rambunctious dog was very happy with her also. She is a miracle worker. Trust her! I will.

Louise is a gem. My 8 year old, 20 pound, dog has stayed with her twice and on both occasions she was quick to respond to my requests, and promptly worked with me to iron out details. She was considerate in how she introduced my dog to her own, and they got along beautifully. Louise sent photos of my dog, as well as details about her stay that put me at ease. My dog got plenty of time outside and cuddles when she was inside. I most highly recommend Louise!

A typical day

Because of the activity level of my own dogs, being active and burning off energy is a high priority. There are tons of trails around where I live, so there will always be new places to explore. The house we live in is set up for play, with tons of balls, robes, and other toys to play with and areas to rumble on.
