Pet care experience
Pets are family, so while taking care of yours their safety and happiness will be my #1 priority! Prior to DC working life I fostered rescue dogs regularly, and I have a TON of experience with dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and temperaments (including VERY shy and timid ones). I believe strongly in using only positive-reinforcement to ensure that your pet feels safe and comfortable at all times. As a former nanny and current manager, I follow all requested procedures and routines to the letter, and will happily go the extra mile (or two!) for your pet. I'm happy to meet you and your animal before taking care of them while you're away if that would help you feel comfortable while you're out of town, and happy to answer any questions you may have for me!

We picked Louisa because of her clear love for animals and her former job as a nanny, showing she is trustworthy and respectful of people’s homes. Louisa was very good to our 1.5 year old cat Ollie. She accommodated our early request times and sent us great pics and videos! She even offered to go back after her appointment to change his water due to the DC water crisis. Louisa was very thorough in asking questions before and during her visit. This was a great sign she was knowledgeable about dogs, attentive to their needs, and paying attention to even the smallest of details. Louisa was very accommodating and has a sweet and responsible energy. I have a senior with special needs and a ~4 year old with a lot of energy who takes a bit to warm up. The first night, I got a picture of my shy girl cuddling up to Louisa like they'd known each other for years. Would have loved a summary of their day, but that's me being a crazy dog lady plus I didn't ask so that's on me. I would absolutely book the lovely Louisa again!

I have no preferences when it comes to dogs - I really do love them all! Please let me know some things your dog really loves or doesn't like. Also tell me if there is anything to watch out for (chewing, marking, etc.) and where the leash and treats are.
A typical day
Location depends on where you live! Depending on if your dog really likes people or prefers quiet, we'll go through the city or find a nice trail somewhere. We can go on jogs if they like, or snuggle and play with toys inside!
