LOVE dog speak & their ZEST 4 life
Pet care experience
I raised my lab from a puppy thru its life & worked with my first professional trainer for 18 months. I was off-leashed licensed with him back east & continue to use the many skills I learned when dealing with other's dogs. I especially work well with helping puppies learn the ropes & getting them off to a great start in their new pack. I am unable to have a pet now and miss it. I have a lovely backyard, (and no, I never, ever, leave your dog(s) outside unattended or when I'm gone). I do prefer a crate or I will use a gate for the few times I might not be able to visually supervise your pooch for their safety, (like I'm in the shower!). Until your dog(s) and I develop a trust in my home that they can be left unattended, as in my eyes aren't on them. I love animals, but these are your babies and I want to make sure they are safe with me at all times. When my lab was a puppy I would attach his leash to my belt loop when I was cooking in the kitchen, so he could be out of his crate but not unsupervised. So rest assured, I don't use crates to house or punish, and I prefer they aren't in them. I DO TAKE MULTIPLE DOGS from ONE CLIENT or FAMILY. (If I list that I take two dogs on Rover it makes my calendar look open when it is not. I do not take pets from multiple clients at a time unless they know each other and are wanting to both use me for a shared trip, and assure me that their dogs get along.) If you have a dog that can be destructive, please allow me to come to your house to sit them vs mine. I trust you to use your judgment. Don't be afraid to tell me of their "issues." It makes for a better experience for you, your pet(s), and me if we are completely upfront with one another. I'm not trying to change your pet's behavior but to make sure that you get back the pet you left with no new issues, who is happy to see you and not afraid to come back. (It doesn't mean I might not give you some suggestions if you are interested!) Truly, I enjoy animals, I'm easy going, and having had pets and kids, I understand that they are precious to you and having them well cared for while you're away, makes your experience more pleasurable. After all, that's the whole point of great services like Rover. I've been doing it for my friends for years and am happy to do it for you. (When booking your dates, please be considerate of your drop off and pick up times. If you are dropping off before 3pm or picking up after 3pm, please allow for a small day rate fee to be added of $10 (total, not per pet). Thank you for your consideration.)
