I love dogs and they have been a part of my family my entire life! I worked in the pet industry for close to a decade, managing Community, and writing for the world's leading website for dogs (and cats). I've fostered and adopted dogs and have volunteered with several animal welfare organizations in the Bay Area. I am available to board REPEAT CLIENTS in my home, Friday evening after 6:30pm through Sunday late evening. I have a big, securely fenced, backyard, and live right next to Golden Gate Park, so there will be plenty of park exploring . Your dog can sleep wherever they want and I love snugglers! I'm comfortable administering medication, if necessary and have also worked with special needs and senior dogs. I live with my 3-year-old Hank, a American Staffordshire Terrier/Mix. I rescued Hank just a little over two years ago when she was about 10 months old. Hank was only a puppy when she was found wandering the streets of Vallejo. She was basically feral, afraid of most people, and not socialized. I have worked really hard with a trainer over the last two years, mostly to help her feel safe and comfortable around people and on impulse control. Hank LOVES other dogs, so yours must too. When she first meets other dogs, she gets really excited. For some dogs, her size and excitement can be intimidating, however, once they spend time with her and realize she is harmless, they relax and become her friend. Hank has spent time with dogs of all sizes and ages, and I have never had an issue with Hank and any of the dogs that have stayed here. Hank is still not entirely comfortable around people she's just met. So when new visitors come to the house, I just advise them to ignore her and let her come to them. Once she's comfortable, she almost always brings them a toy and tries to initiate a game of tug. Hank is a solid 60 lbs, with a huge head, big mouth, and a short, stocky body but she is a sweetie and wants nothing more in life that to snuggle. I adore her.
