Pet care experience
I am available to care for dogs, cats, and small animals! I have been working and training with dogs for 9 years. Prior to moving to Maine I was a full-time pet sitter, I also co-taught a puppy class at a local dog gym called K9Jym and volunteered as a kennel leader at Last Chance Ranch Animal Shelter. I trained and competed in Rally-Obedience. Upon moving to Maine I worked at Happy Tails Dog Day Care and Boarding in Portland full time. When we settled in Lewiston I got a job at Bates College, but I miss the dogs and I can't wait to help you care for yours. I can provide references and am very happy to perform light housekeeping like getting your mail and watering your plants while you are away from your home.

Lori is the sitter who my cat is most comfortable with. She does a great job staying in touch and providing photos each day, which is important to me because my cat can easily become stressed. When Lori is visiting her, I can see from the photos that she is acting like her usual self, which means a lot!
Lori is amazing! I have a high energy, dog-reactive pup who needs an experienced, patient handler. I was worried I wasn't going to ever be able to go on vacation until I did a meet and greet with Lori and was amazed how she was clearly experienced and knew exactly what to do. Oh yes and I have an old cat who she was very nice to. Lori is super responsible: I had instructions which Lori followed to the t, she sent me lots of pictures and updates, and communication was very good. I think Lori is the only person besides my family members I'd ever trust to my dog's care. Looking forward to being able to go on vacation now :)

I definitely need to meet your dog before any sit! It's much nicer for them to get to meet me with you, when they feel safe. Let me know your dog's likes and dislikes! I would like to know about any food or leash walking problems. If your dog follows a strict routine or schedule I'll definitely want to know about that. I love dogs of all shapes and sizes.
A typical day
Activities will depend on the personality of your dog. Of course there will be walks for exercise and potty breaks. But if you and your dog usually snuggle on the couch and watch TV we'll snuggle on the couch and watch TV. If you and your dog like to practice the trick they've learned, we'll do that. If you would like me to do some light training and games and maybe learn a new trick or two, we'll do that. Dogs like routine, and it is important to me to keep to a schedule as close as possible to what your dog is used to.
