I have been doing this for about 19 years and really love all animals I meet. About this sitter: Pet sitter with over 19 years of experience, taking care of dogs in my home or your home, taking care of cats in your home! I have even taken care of goats, rabbits, hedgehogs, fish, and chickens. I am committed to treating your pets as if they are my own, ensuring that they get plenty of love and attention. I offer to allow your dog to stay in my home, and treat it just like you would, if they sleep with you, they sleep with me, if you crate them, I crate them, they are allowed on furniture here, all I ask you bring is their food and a leash (I can even provide the bowls), any medicines with instructions for administering and whether it needs to be refrigerated or kept at room temperature. If they have a favorite toy, blankie or bed that smells like home, that sometimes seems to help to make them more comfortable. The only requirements for them to stay in my home is that they get along well with other dogs, are up to date on vaccinations and be flea free, and on flea preventative (currently using a flea protection or prevention method). My husband and I also offer the flexibility of staying in your home with your cat or dog, (or other animals). Basically, my husband or I will "take up residency" at your home for the time that you are gone. We live out of your home, meaning that we are with your animals as much as we possibly can be. We try our best to be a fill in for you while you are away so your animal has a human presence. I offer to make visits too, there are some folks that really don't want their dog to stay with us and they don't want us to stay in their homes with their animals. In that case, we just make daily visits for potty breaks, play time, food, and medication. Flexibility I would say is our number one thing that sets us apart from others. We do whatever fits you and your pet best. We know if the pets are happy, then you are also happy and that is our ultimate goal! Why I love dog sitting: I have loved dogs pretty much all my life. We have had family pets for years. I have been doing pet sitting for 19 years. Our dogs are our children, not just a pet. My experience administering medication: Yes, I am comfortable administering medication. I have had to give dogs and/or cats everything from insulin injections, to whole pills, pills crushed in food, pills in pill pockets and syringe medication. Don't worry about your pet receiving their medicine while you are away, I will make sure that they do.
