Dog's Best Friend

Pet care experience

***Taking repeat clients only at this time, thank you *** Surrounded by miles of shady walking paths under the canopy of majestic pines, your dog can enjoy strolling the greenbelts of University Park or relax and sunbathe on the patio in my quiet backyard. Playtime, belly rubs, & plenty of cuddling are also on the daily agenda. As a recent retiree, I have the time and flexibility to devote to caring for your dog and ensuring they are kept busy and distracted from missing their family. I have decades of experience as a dog owner and trainer, and have cared for many service dogs in training as a dogsitter. My single-level home would also be ideal for senior dogs where stairs might be a problem. Please note that I cannot accommodate puppies younger than 1 year at this time. (I'm concerned about potty accidents in the house :-( Why I love dog sitting I have lived with canine family members most of my life, from purebred Corgis to the generic Mutt variety. I have enjoyed assisting a close friend train puppies for Canine Companions for Independence. To see a service dog "graduate" and be placed with a forever family is a life-changing experience. Meet my pets About my yard A medium-sized yard shaded by giant mature pine trees. Completely fenced and secure, landscaped around a concrete patio. Trickling fountains, squirrels chattering in the branches above and hummingbirds swooping in for a quick bath add to the ambiance as well. My experience administering medication Oral medications, yes.

This review is a long time coming. Lori is a great sitter. I've been to her before and she really knows how to treat you and your pet. Awesome and Lori get along great. I know she'll be well taken care of when I leave her with Lori.

We were very happy with Lori sitting our dog Poppy. She took great care in learning about her and making her environment comfortable while we were away. Great experience and will surely use her again in the future!!

Lori took amazing care of my sensitive and sweet little girl. Abby and Lori seem to have really bonded and I'm so glad! They walked and played and had dinner with friends. Abby only reluctantly came home with me!

Information Lori F. would like to know about your pet

The more I know about a dog's personality, likes & dislikes, the better the experience will be for both of us. I will ask about training goals, boundaries, and what behaviors are allowed/not allowed in the owner's home so there will be consistency in interaction. I also like to know about favorite activities, treats, & toys so I can make the visit an especially fun and rewarding experience for the dog. Drop off and pick up times are flexible. Early drop off combined with late pick up will be pro-rated for the daily fee.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks University Park has miles of walking paths with acres of grass and trees which start right outside my back door. For more strenous walks, I like the Shady Canyon trail. Your dog's sleeping arrangement To be discussed. I would expect in the same bedroom as myself, in the type of bedding the dog is accustomed to at home. Time I'll spend with your dog While I have a canine guest, they pretty much have my full attention. Active dogs get a long walk to start the day, mealtime, rest, playtime, grooming, or training, and either an evening walk or romping with my friend's service dog, whichever is more appropriate for the dog's social needs. Senior dogs who prefer napping would get quiet time and maybe a relaxed brushing. I do not work outside the home so I would not be leaving the dog unattended for anything longer than a few hours.
