Between us we have taken care of many pets and some farm animals for years. He has time when kids are in school to check on animals and isn't afraid to get dirty if you have farm animals.

He can do it while kids are in school and she/we can do it on weekends. We had our own pets until a few years ago when finding rental that allowed pets became tough. We have had cats, dogs, rabbits, chickens, ducks.
