Experienced, loving, and reliable!

Pet care experience

Hello! Thank you for reading my profile! I have extensive knowledge and experience in working with all types of animals, especially dogs. I grew up on a farm in California, and I have lived in NC for about 22 years with my own diverse brood of animals. I have owned dogs of all sizes, from toy poodles to Great Danes. I have worked as a "kennel girl" for Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, CA, assisted in vet hospitals, and I have traveled great distances on the AT with one of my rescue dogs, Maggie. Tending to sore muscles or administering meds are no problem. I enjoy walks and love to train or cuddle when needed. I have worked with and cared for goats, turkeys, horses, pigs, rabbits, snakes, parrots, cows, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, geese, guinea pigs, mice, rats, 3 children, and a husband. One of my dogs, Maybell, even has an honorary Master's Degree from U.C. Davis because she came to work and school with me every day, holding office hours and attending and teaching classes every day of my Master's Degree. I have also cared for the elderly, physically disabled, and visually impaired - human and animal alike. I have been known to hold down the fort for a few people over the years, from apartments to single-family homes and from farms to million-dollar mansions. No challenge is beyond a little planning and a lot of dedication. I LOVE working with dogs, and I want owners to know how their dogs and other animals are doing, and I communicate with them (the owners) every day. Your dogs, cats, and various family members will know that they are safe and loved when you aren't there. I guarantee it!

Liz was very professional and also made sure to spend time with our dogs everyday in addition to basic care. She did a great job of giving medications and special care to our old man!

Liz was great with our baby! She sent daily pictures in the morning and evening and was always available for a "worried parent". I would use Liz again in a heart beat!

You could not find a better pet sitter than Liz Schroeder. She's had a lifelong passion of relating to and caring for animals of all kinds, including horses, rabbits, dogs, cats, snakes, parrots and farm animals like chickens, cows and sheep. As a teenager, she was employed by Guide Dogs for the Blind. She has ability to work with puppies as well as adult and older dogs. Liz is compassionate, loving, organized, a common-sense decision maker, neat, communicative, and genuinely cares for the well-being of all animals. Liz has worked for a vet, leaving her with knowledge of what needs to be done for animals in crisis situations, should she encounter them. She has spent hours learning dog training, which she gently applies when working with animals in her care. I have had some wonderful Rover care people help me with my dogs. Liz Schroeder is at the very top of this group.

Information Liz S. would like to know about your pet

All dogs are lovable! No breed should be left out! I would like to know if your dog(s) have special likes and dislikes, what their routines are, and if they like to play with others. Fears (such as thunderstorms and separation anxiety) are also of concern - what is the best way for me to help your dog(s) feel safe and have fun while you are away?
