I had Liz watch my four cats while I was gone for my wedding. As it was a housesitting, she was welcome to our kitchen. When I got home from my wedding, and a day of being on the road, I wasn’t all the way up the stairs yet before I could smell the litter box. We got in around 2 PM and it seemed that the litter box hadn’t been cleaned in roughly 24 hours based on what I know about my cats and their usage. Clay litter pellets were also all over the floor. As I was cleaning, I also noticed that a jug of distilled water was sitting next to their water fountain. I kept a jug of distilled water for medical use in our bedroom, and it seems that the distilled water had been used to refill the fountain. Distilled water is not a safe water source for drinking. This is especially bad for cats - who are prone to kidney issues. I had given instructions about a plastic water pitcher to use to refill the fountain, it seems that my now husband had put it away in the incorrect spot, but I wish Liz had asked for clarification before providing only distilled water to my cats. A few hours later, I started making dinner and noticed that a pot that was on the clean dishes tray to dry still had food caked on it. Communication was a little bit low during the sit, but I understood that as Liz drove up to 45 minutes to watch our pets due to us being in a semi-rural area. We were also quite busy due to getting married, and I chalked it up to her maybe not wanting to interrupt our weekend. I am really glad that we came home when we did instead of immediately leaving on our honeymoon, and I do not plan on using Liz to watch our cats again. If she had any questions about anything, she should have asked, instead of risking my cats health and leaving my home a mess.

Liz is always reliable and communicates well with us while we’re away! She stays with our two full sized doodles and always leaves the house in great condition!
