Happy dog, Happy home

Pet care experience

.I am a retired NYC Paramedic. Having grown up in Georgia, Puerto Rico and Idaho we kept a lot of pets around. I am familiar with the care of dogs, cats, birds and exotics such as bearded dragons, snakes, ferrets. As I am retired, I can house sit, pet sit and even water your plants days, nights, weekends and holidays. For special needs pups: While my background is human medicine, I am CPR trained (former American Heart Association instructor) and not squeamish; fully willing and capable of administering any medication or injectables (insulin, supplements) that your fluffy love may need. I have been a part of the animal rescue community in the NYC region for over 25 years, assisting with fostering, rescues, trap,-neuter-return programs, public spay campaigns and inter-state rescue transports. I am looking forward to exploring this beautiful city and taking long walks with your fur baby.

I’ve know Liz for several years and can say she is a loving pet owner and reliable caregiver. She’s helped us with rescuing a cat once and assisted us in the steps in obtaining ownership of our rescue.

I’ve known Liz for over 15 years and I know this woman puts her animals in front of even herself. She helped my daughter adopt a stray kitten and assisted in transport, shelter and spaying. I cannot thank her enough for her assistance. She even helped dog sit my frenchie a couple of times and was never an issue.

Information Liz R. would like to know about your pet

Hi! I would love to meet your pet in its familiar surrounding so that they get to know me where they feel most safe, secure and comfortable. I'd like to get to know them and learn their nicknames (we all call our pets by several different names of endearment that they respond to) and observe the things they like to do and play with. Let me know what their favorite treats are and what calls their absolute attention in case of distractions ( I had a dog named Pookie who, no matter where he was or what he was doing the sound of a crackling plastic bottle or the word 'ball' got his attention and brought him right to my side). Is he/she afraid of anything like: sirens, fireworks, loud noises, other dogs, cats? What soothes him/her? Like for instance, do they like their belly rubbed? Who doesn't? Am I right? Do they allow brushing, bathing? Is there somewhere he is sensitive or guarded about touching? What is his diet like? What snacks do you give him and on what kind of schedule? Does your pet get along with other animals? I am very excited to meet your fur baby and explore the city, thank you for choosing me.
