From small to large, puppy to senior, social to anti-social, leash reactive to the doesn't wasn't to move on a leash - I'm your dog sitter! I provide walks/runs and drop-in visits for dogs. Although I don't have formal animal care education, I am very familiar with all aspects of dog care and behavior. Personally, I have owned dogs and cats for the past 18 years. I have spent time volunteering as an animal caregiver and farmhand, where I have worked with a variety of animals (including dogs, goats, donkeys, birds, pigs, and wildlife). As a distance runner, I'm willing to provide whatever level of activity that your pet needs, whether that's a short walk or a run-up to 10 miles. I'm also an avid hiker and paddleboarder, so longer-term sitting can include such activities if your dog enjoys them! I do have a 7-year-old dog named Kuma (Alaskan Klee Kai) and a 2-year-old dog named Chloe (our lovable, clumsy, big rescue). Here are a few other details about my animal care: • Make pets familiar with self by showing empathy • Ensure that pets are fed and given water with proper intervals • Make sure that pets are walked several times a day to take care of their personal needs • Take instructions from pet owners regarding exercise needs and ensure that they are carried out • Dispense and administer medication when instructed by pet owner • Play with pets to ensure that they have a feeling of companionship • Observe pets for behavior or health issues and report them to owner • Provide training to puppies • Socialize dogs with other dogs when appropriate • Leash training • Close attention to escape artists (I know some of our dog friends need to be watched EXTRA carefully for harnesses, leashes, gaps in fenses, gate/door closure, etc.)
