Dependable Dog Lover

Pet care experience

My family had dogs when I was growing up, and in 2008 I worked for a dog walking company in Chicago. I started getting pet sitting jobs through Rover in 2017, so I have a lot of experience caring for pups, (as well as cats & chickens.) My partner-in-time, Jason, also worked as a pet sitter before we met, and so we've joined forces on our dog & cat sitting adventures, so you'll get the added bonus of a second professional sitter caring for your pet(s) & home. We spend a lot of time learning about dog training techniques, and are happy to help train your pet if you're interested. Jason and I are both artists & photographers, so we both enjoy capturing candid moments of the pets we sit for, and would be happy to send photo updates during our stay with your best friend. We've also both studied holistic health for many years, and as a Flower Essence Practitioner, I would love to share what I've learned about the use of Bach Flower Remedies for separation anxiety, fears, behavioral issues, stress or other emotional imbalances your pet may be experiencing. If you're interested, we can create a custom flower essence blend tailored to your pets needs and work with it during our stay with them.

Liz was absolutely amazing. I can’t thank her enough for watching my pup. Our doggy was played with and cared for so well. As if that wasn’t enough. I came home to a completely spotless house. Linens washed and all. Exactly what you want when on vacation, to know your doggy is being cared for and come home to a house as you left it. Thank you so so much. Definitely takes some of the stress out of planning a vacation knowing I can book Liz again!

Liz was great. The house was as we left it and Amelie was clearly happy despite us being away longer than we ever have been since we got her. Thanks so much!

Liz has a very inviting space for dogs! She took GREAT care of Mickey, he had lots of space to run around, and Liz was able to ease his anxiety right away. We are so grateful! Highly recommend!!

Liz and Jason were excellent! We got photo and text updates, and most importantly our puppers had a great time. Definitely will be calling them again!

Safety, trust & environment

We're very vigilant when taking pups for their walks, and generally make sure we keep our distance from other dogs & people so that everyone stays safe. Jason and I will both care for your pet like they're our own, and will be very respectful of your home & privacy. We've had many house-sitting jobs where we've stayed for 2 weeks or more, helping water plants, bring in the mail, etc. References are available upon request. We're also available to board your pup in our cabin in the woods, which has a fenced in yard and plenty of space to run around.

Information Liz D. would like to know about your pet

Please fill me in on anything I can do to make you're dog feel more comfortable while you're away, or anything I can do to help you feel at ease while I'm caring for them. It would be helpful for us to know if they're on any medications, or if they have any special dietary needs, habits, preferences, etc.

A typical day

When it comes to caring for dogs, we keep a positive attitude, and have patience and sensitivity to their needs. Jason often enjoys taking dogs out to the yard to play fetch, if that's something they enjoy. When boarding dogs, we often walk them to a nearby river to give them some peaceful time out in nature. We're happy to take them to their favorite park or to other spots that they love in the neighborhood. We adore all animals, and will do whatever it takes to help your pet(s) feel safe and comfortable while you're away, while also gently enforcing necessary boundaries.
