Pet care experience
I am a PhD student at UC Irvine with a friendly and energetic pup named Pinguim! We recently moved to California from DC and are looking to expand our doggy network. As a student, I have a very flexible schedule with fixed obligations only a few hours three days a week so your pup will never have to spend too much time alone! My husband and I have two cars so I can also be there quickly for last minute requests or emergencies. I am an avid runner and hiker and in DC I had a small business in which I would take athletic dogs in need of exercise out for runs or hikes (distance and intensity is of course at the owner's discretion.) I'm also available for this service even if you're not headed out of town! As an academic, I nerd-out about a lot of things. Yet when it comes to dogs my level of nerdy-ness is exceptional (I.e. Making "paw-some" puns.). My two and a half year old rescue pup, Pinguim, is my best partner In crime in my life's greatest adventures. Pinguim has been the ring-bearer at my wedding, my co-pilot on our cross-country drive to move to California, my long-distance running and hiking buddy and general cuddler-in-chief. So whether you have a lazy pup who'd prefer to snuggle on the couch or an active one eager to explore the great outdoors I'd love to sit for him or her anytime! I am also available when you're in a lurch and can't make it home in time for a walk, run, or feeding time! I also offer some additional services Rover fans might be interested in: Doggy fitness runs: You let me know the mileage your pup needs and I'll make sure she gets that energy out! My own dog has been my long-time running buddy so I know exactly when he's had too much, needs a water-break, or could use a little bit more. I like to know what I'm putting in my pup's body so a lot of time I like to make his own treats. Flavors include: Carrot-Bacon Banana-Peanut Butter Maple-Honey Or any variation you want! Liz was amazing! A true dog lover with a sweet and energetic disposition of her own. She took care of every detail at our home and gave us photo and text updates during her stay with Jecko. Jecko is a spoiled and active dog and she made sure he was well exercised, cared for and loved :)
Liz is fantastic! She keep me updated about our dogs throughout the stay and sent a lot of pictures. I will absolutely use Liz again!
Another happy visit with Liz! She is very good at dealing with our stubborn but loveable pup! Appreciate having a great resource like her to let our Louis out for a walk or stay so we can relax and not worry.

I've quite literally never met a dog I didn't like. This includes one dog for which I was sitting who pooped in the back-seat of my car and then after I cleaned it up, decided he would pee in the same spot. The owner was horrified but I just thought it was funny. That said, all I need from you is general info about temperament and care needs. Let me know if your dog is more of a couch potato or wilderness explorer and I'll adjust the care to your preferences! Pinguim, my own dog is about the friendliest little guy you'll ever meet. If your dog needs some socializing practice, let me know if you'd like me to bring Pinguim along with me for a playdate.
A typical day
Your dog will never be wanting for love or attention during our time together. My flexible schedule as a student allows me to remain at home much more than someone who works a normal 9-5. Walks and other adventures can be as long and frequent as you like, including outings for hikes or to doggy beach! Let me know if your dog usually sleeps on the bed or couch and I have no problem adjusting to your preferences.
