I’ve lived with/ owned a dog ever since I was little. Currently, I have my own dog who is 4.5 years old. He is a bit reactive (no biting, just excitable/ anxious), so I’m used to dealing with dogs like this. I’m always the go-to person to watch dogs for my friends and coworkers when they are away. I also own a 12 year old cat who is indifferent to dogs.

I live near a nice trail in the woods and have a small dog park near me. My apartment is dog friendly (no food left out, plenty of toys, constantly watching, etc.).

Let me know if your dog is reactive to other dogs or people. How long do they usually spend outside/ walking? Do they get hot/ tired easily? Do they just want to sit and enjoy the sun?
A typical day
We can walk in the woods behind my apartment or just on the road if that is preferable. If it’s hot, we will avoid concrete/ hot surfaces. I bring my dog to the dog park everyday (unless it’s way too hot for him), and we play soccer and “fetch” (or, more typically, he likes “keep away”).

I am a postdoc researcher and mostly work from home. My schedule varies during the week. If I have enough time in advance I can usually move things around.
