Animal Behaviorist & Dog Lover

Pet care experience

Animals have been my entire life, and I am lucky for it! I have a Bachelors's degree in Animal Behavior, and I have over 15 years of experience training and caring for dogs in kennels and doggie daycares. I am a dog and cat CPR certified and experienced in working with dogs with medical and behavioral special needs. I have extensive experience with obedience training, and I have specialized in working with reactive and unsocialized dogs. I have worked with breeds and temperaments of all kinds, and I can say that there is no such thing as a bad dog. As for my other experience, I have worked as a wildlife researcher in the US and Africa, a zookeeper, wildlife rehabilitator, and I also managed a wolf sanctuary. Now I'm focusing on my favorite species, your best friend, and mine, the domestic dog. Bottom line: I know what I'm doing when it comes to dogs, and I am more than happy to do it.

Liz was wonderful while housesitting with our dog Toby and sent us a lot of updates and great pictures of their walks!

Liz looked after our kitty Milo for an extended long weekend. Milo is pretty shy and Liz really took the time to draw him out and bond with him. What a relief it was to see pictures of Milo being patted and enjoying himself every day. She followed all of our instructions and we came home to the place looking better than when we left it. Couldn’t ask for more! We will definitely book Liz again in the future.

Liz did an awesome job with our dog, Lucy, during our vacation! Lucy can be anxious with new people, but Liz had no trouble getting her to trust her right away - she definitely knows animals. While we were away Liz was punctual for her visits, kept us informed, and made sure Lucy was well fed, exercised, and loved. We’d definitely recommend Liz to others and we’ll be reaching out to her again next time we’re taking a trip!

Information Liz B. would like to know about your pet

I would prefer to know of any behavioral issues beforehand so I can work with your dog most effectively and safely. This could include; dog or food-related aggression, high prey drive (we really want to catch squirrels, cats, small dogs), escape artist tendencies, or any fears (thunderstorms, men, woman, big dogs). Also, please let me know if your dog is allergic to anything or needs special treats. Thanks.

A typical day

I love taking my doggie clients hiking on the trail or trips to the dog park. If your dog is up for it, I could always use a four-legged running partner. I can also cater to our senior dogs and or couch potatoes and provide more leisurely walks or quick potty breaks.
