Devoted Animal Care

Pet care experience

First, thanks for choosing my profile! Experience: -Military dog training kennel assistant -AZA Accredited Sunset Zoo Volunteer -Bachelor's in Fisheries, Wildlife Conservation Biology -Bachelor's in Animal Biology -Minor in Animal Science -Laboratory Animal Technician -Veterinary Client Services Assistant -Master's in Natural History Museum Studies (pending) Hi my name is Litsa and, like most of us on this app, I love animals. I got started on Rover in 2018 but living in a small midwestern town meant that I didn't receive a booking request until two years later. Now that things are looking up I love caring for people's pets and getting to see the wonderful variety of fluffy cuties out there! About Me: I am a child of military parents and spent time all over the world. Because the military is such a tight-knit community I was often asked to house-sit dogs for family friends as I was growing up. I had the opportunity to work at a military dog breeding and training facility in Greece in high school which kickstarted a passion I have for training dogs. I'm preparing to become a certified dog trainer and apprentice under a professional trainer. In college I was often asked to care for a friend's small homestead, so if you've got more than the typical dogs and cats I am definitely up for the challenge! I got my two undergraduate degrees in Wildlife Conservation and Animal Biology. After my undergrad I spent time working at a veterinary school caring for research animals and working as a client services assistant in the veterinary laboratory. I am currently in New Mexico while I complete my graduate degree in Museum Studies, focusing on natural history museums. I am currently up-to-date on my COVID vaccines and will not ask you to divulge your vaccination status. Why Choose Me? : If you couldn't tell from above, I LOVE animals. Loving animals is just the beginning for why I would be a great sitter. Growing up in a military household, I value order. When you go on vacation you expect to come home to your house just as you left it. When I stay at your house I make sure that it looks like I was never there. You'll know I was though, because throughout your trip I make sure to send multiple daily photos and messages to let you know that your pets are receiving the best care possible while you're away. Is your pet special needs or reactive? Don't worry I'll always make sure you're aware of if they're running low on meds or how a walk went.

Litsa was very prompt and kept our babies safe while we were away. She sent multiple photos for each drop in visit so we could see how comfortable they felt around her. Would definitely recommend Litsa to anyone needing someone who is responsive and responsible as well as loving.

Litsa did a wonderful job caring for my cat while I was out of town. She is very responsive to messages and sent over a bunch of pictures from each visit so I knew my kitty was ok. She even took my cat outside for a couple walks on her harness! I really appreciated Litsa's help and would absolutely book her services again in the future.

Litsa was a perfect fit for my dog Finn. Finn is a bird dog with very high energy and a difficult time on leash. He is trained but struggles to follow his rules. Litsa did a meet and greet which is important to me for safety of her and him. She communicates well and frequently, asks important questions you won’t think of and most importantly is patient/kind to Finn. She knows how to redirect and keep him safe and happy on walks. 100% will use her services again.

Services: When preparing to request a booking please ensure that a profile has been made for each of your pets that will require care. This includes things like birds, hamsters, lizards, and things of that sort. Because Rover doesn't give us the option to set prices for these I can go in and edit the price for the care of these pets after a booking request has been set and we can discuss what prices would work best. Please add your own profile picture! This is for my safety. I need to ensure that the person I have been speaking to through the app is the same person I'm meeting. If you have a special needs pet they will be charged under my puppy rate. I charge for each pet unless I tell you otherwise. That means that if you have two cats for a house sitting you will be charged for both, even if it seems like the same amount of care would be needed for just one. When you have more than one pet I try my best to ensure each pet gets one-on-one time. This means that if you have two cats and one of them often hides from strangers I will take my time to search for the cat to at least ensure it is safe in your home. Boarding: I live in an house and I am able to board one small to medium sized dog at a time. I crate train my dog and, for the safety of your dog and my pets, all animals will be crated while I am not there to supervise. I have a spare crate so you won't have to bring your own. I do ask that you bring a blanket or flexible bed so your dog has somewhere comfy to lay down. I will board puppies but only during the weekend so I can ensure your dog is on a potty schedule that is appropriate for their age. I only accept dogs that are dog-friendly and small animal friendly for boarding. Before booking a stay longer than three nights I require a single overnight trial stay at 50% my standard rate to ensure that all pets in the household will get along properly. Walking: For walking I am fine with dogs of any ages, breeds, and sizes. Please let me know any specifics about walking your dog like if they're reactive or pull. For my safety and the dog's safety I do spend time during the walks to make sure they are not pulling excessively so that we can both get an efficient and rewarding walk. Because of this I ask that your dog's leash is not attached to a harness but instead use a flat collar and leash or preferably a slip lead. If you have two dogs I prefer to start with walking them one at a time to get to know their walking style, habits, and triggers. Each dog will still get a 30 minute walk. This means that the cost will be my standard dog rate plus the additional dog rate plus the 60 minute add-on fee. After a few walks with your dogs I can determine if I feel comfortable walking them at the same time for 30 minutes. Please be aware that walking them separately is for my safety and their safety, controlling and protecting two dogs is challenging especially in an emergency, like an approaching off-leash dog. House Sitting: I require a meet and greet at your house before confirming any bookings unless you are already repeat client from a different service. During the meet and greet I like to go over feeding schedule and specifics such as medications or supplements. I also need to be made aware of their potty schedule as well as their cue for letting me know they need to go outside. My house-sitting hours are from 9pm to 9am with an hour long drop-in sometime between 11am and 1pm. If you'd like me to stop by any extra I will charge the additional time under my hourly rate. Keep in mind that house sitting is not constant care. I will not be at your house 24/7. If you would like constant care for your pets please mention when sending a booking request. My constant care rate is $30 an hour. Drop-ins - During drop-ins I make sure your pet gets fed or let out to potty and then gets some play time. For drop-in visits I will not take your pet on walks. Keys - I usually pick up keys during the first meet and greet and this is free. Outside of that first meeting I do charge a key pickup/return fee of $15 round trip. To avoid this please have a lockbox or a safe place to hide the key at the end of a sit/drop-in or I can provide my address and we can meet for you to pick up your key. This method is safer than locking the key in the house. In case of an emergency I may need to extend my stay or do another visit and if the key is locked inside caring for your pet won't be possible. Meet and Greet - Our first meet and greet is always free. Any additional meetings after the first meet and greet are $30 per hour. Pricing: I am not flexible on my pricing for cats and dogs. I work to provide quality care for your pets and my pricing reflects that. Please be aware that Rover takes 20% of any booking which is another reason my prices are what they are. I occasionally offer discounts based on proximity, length of stay, and to repeat clients. *Tips* Rover does allow you to tip but figuring it out can be a bit confusing. If you want to tip but you're having trouble on Rover let me know and I'll send you my Venmo! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my profile!

Overall Care: I can provide the best care for your pets on weekends since I don't have classes. This means that I can ensure they get fed exactly when they need to. I have time to walk them or let them out into the yard, whichever you prefer. Because I am also working towards becoming a certified dog trainer I am willing to help teach your dog basic obedience such as waiting to be released to eat, sit, down, and threshold training as well. Just let me know! While my schedule is busier during the week I try to make sure your pets are fed either an hour earlier or later than their regular feeding time if I have a personal time conflict. Because of homework I am less able to walk your dogs during the week but some days my schedule will allow me to squeeze one in.

My Schedule: I am currently a graduate student and because of that my schedule can vary during the week. Some days I have many classes and some days I have none. Because of this I will always let you know if your booking dates and times might conflict with my class times. Under most circumstances, if your dog can handle you being gone for the work day then everything should work perfectly. Most of my days throughout the week are flexible enough that I won't have to be gone a full work day. If you're taking a weekend trip, great, I can always clear my weekends to care for your babies. I do have my own pets and this means that for house-sitting I will need to come to my home and care for my pets. Bookings that are further away make this more difficult and I might be unable to provide your pets with the quality care during the week. If this seems to be the case, I may recommend contacting a different Rover sitter that I trust to watch your pets instead. Before confirming a booking I will make sure you're completely aware of my schedule and how it could affect my care for your pets.
