Pet care experience

I will care for your dog and pride myself in providing the personal touch in making sure his or her stay with us is a positive experience. I like to do one-on-one care with a limited number of dogs to board. This way I can focus my attention and care for your dog's stay. I am happy to set up a meet and greet. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to chat in person, for me to find out more about your dog and your wishes for his/her care, and for you to see where he/she will be staying. A special note to my existing customers: our Patterdale Terrier (Black & Tan Terrier) passed away the day before Thanksgiving due to cancer. We recently adopted MacAy. He is a sweet gentle 1 1/2 year old, 35 lb Border Collie. Your dog will love him. I will send pictures and updates during your pets' stay. There are no children in my household. I am available the majority of the time, as I work from home. I limit up to 1-2 dogs' stay. Feel free to look up my calendar ahead of time to see if you need to have a dog boarder at a specific time. Dogs with separation anxiety will be reassured as I will always be there with them. I understand the need for the dog to behave this way. They want to be reassured, comforted and taken care of. I always have extra food bowls, and will keep them separate for all dogs to eat their own food in peace. I have a few extra dog bed, pillows, shag rug and blankets for dogs to sleep and lay on. If you prefer your dog to be kenneled, please let me know and I do have a kennel of different sizes. A stay with a stranger can be scary, but I try my best to have your dog feel right at home with things they need whether it's something from you, their own food, treats and even toys/chews that they like. Familiarity and routine is very important to dogs. I will have treats, food (even wet food for senior dogs and those with bad teeth) and a variety of toys of my own. Balls, squeaky toys, rope pull tugs, Frisbee, flat squeaky toys are in my stockpile. If your dog has their own favorite toy, bring it along with the stay! However, if you do not want your dogs to have treats, then I will respect that. Let me know. Just a side note: Treats I offer are in the majority low fat. I will need to know if your dog has a specific/special diet they need to follow such as low fat dog food due to pancreatitis issues, or a diabetic dog. I also know basic sign language for deaf dogs. Your dog will be treated like the special guest that they are!

Thank you so much for looking after Teddy and Remy while my husband and I went on vacation for the weekend. The photos and updates were great. Remy and Teddy felt right at home.

Safety, trust & environment

We have a fenced in yard and dogs are supervised while outside. Our neighbor had recently installed a 6 foot wall so that will be good for preventing potential dog jumpers going out there. I still have a 4 foot fence on one side but have not done anything with it as my other neighbor likes dogs and will come out to give them treats, with permission. I have nice neighbors!

Information Lisa S. would like to know about your pet

Medical issues -diet requirements? Are treats OK to give? Special needs issues Senior dog Prefer to have dog crated? Separation anxiety issues? Size and temperament? Deaf dog? I have knowledge of basic sign language for dogs. I prefer spayed/neutered dogs as I have a female dog.

A typical day

I have a large fenced yard, especially for most sized dogs. I enjoy taking dogs out to my backyard to "investigate" smells, and to play fetch and tug with toys and small sticks on the ground. For the most part, I will stay outdoors with your dog to watch them and play with them too. My dog loves to go for "sniffy walkabout" in my backyard and your dog will too! We do have chipmunks, squirrels and rabbits that come through on our lawn, so any dog that likes to chase them will have that opportunity to do so!

These prices are for one dog. A booking fee of 11% and taxes will apply.
