My name is Lisa and dogs have always been a part of my family pack. My first dog was a beagle then my dad rescued a German Shepherd that was abandoned on a snowy Cleveland night. When I lived off campus in college, I rescued a golden retriever/Irish setter mix who found his way to campus, walked into my physics lecture and found me! I moved to California and working full time I knew that I did not have enough time to properly take care of a dog so I got my fixes by volunteering at the San Diego county animal shelters, helping socialize and train dogs to make them more adoptable. When I bought a home, I rescued a playful Springer Spaniel/Border Collie mix. She became my childrens' first dog. After she passed away too soon at 10, I rescued another dog from the shelter. This time it was a boxer/pit bull mix. I learned a lot about the breed and tried to educate people about the breed. There are a lot of misconceptions about pit bulls. He passed away too at 10. I started walking and pet sitting dogs using the Wag app and have been using that for more than three years. I enjoy the variety of breeds I interact with. I love dogs of all shapes, sizes and personalities. I have yet to meet a dog who doesn't like me. Dogs know dog people! I also foster dogs through Dogs on Deployment as my way to give THANKS to the men and women who serve our country, taking care of their dogs while they are deployed. My clients tell me I go above and beyond. I treat every dog like they were my own and give them the love and care they deserve.
