Hotel for (mostly Smol or Old) Dogs
Pet care experience
I WFH as a writer and bookseller, closely supervised by my rescue merle chihuahua, Marlie. We would love to host your dog(s) for a day or an overnight while you work or travel. We take walks in the morning and evening but get potty breaks in the yard throughout the day; there are plenty of blankets for snuggling or burrowing and room to play or nap. Marlie enjoys other dogs’ company and would welcome polite friends without a strong prey drive. Unfortunately large high-energy dogs will likely not be a match since our house is mostly very quiet and cozy. Meeting in advance is required.

Marlie was raised around other dogs and enjoys their company, but I provide human intervention in case of any squabbles. We take brief potty breaks outside in the yard on long leads, and our walks around the neighborhood range from 15 minutes (short loop) to an hour (long loop). In the evenings after walks and dinner we read or watch TV as a pack.

Marlie and I would like to meet your dog in a neutral location before their visit; there is a yard across the street that is good for first meetings. I would like to know your dog's history with aggression; commands; health issues; and favorite treats/activities. We mostly prefer to host small or older dogs; large energetic dogs can be overwhelming for Marlie.
A typical day
We will spend most of our time together, both in the office playing with toys or napping, and out in the neighborhood getting some exercise and fresh air. We live near a metropark and occasionally drive there for an adventuresome walk on the walking paths.

Availability
I work from home and have a flexible schedule. I usually keep the dogs with me in my home office and we take breaks and walks together. Marlie generally enjoys a daily car ride to the coffee shop drive-through. If your dog gets carsick easily or cannot enjoy a pup cup (small dish of whipped cream), please let me know so we can make alternate plans.
